why do woman wear sandals and men dont?

For some reason I have come to believe that there was a master plan of some male foot fetishist footwear designer. And its not that Im complaining for as the weather gets warmer its inevitable that women wearning boots and running shoes turn to wearning flip flops and sandals. And it makes a mans imagination start to go wild with delicious wonderment!! But why is it that women wear sandals and for some reason men for the most part don't?

Good question honestly.

I see plenty of males around my area wear sandals though in warmer weather. I myself wear them in the summertime. I'm thinking its probably just something you don't notice too often in your area. Can't speak for other regions of the world obviously, but where I'm from it seems men and women both wear sandals.

Given that this is Southern California, basically everyone here wears sandals or flip flops during at least part of the year.

Wearing a sandal is like wearing a fisherman net as dress. Your body is cover completely by the fisherman net, and yet you are completely naked. You are fully dressed and fully naked at once and in public!

The sandal does that for the woman foot, and they know how to take advantage of it

Can't stand 'em.

Ugh. Nobody wants to look at ugly ol' man-feet. I've never had a use for sandals. Used to be, I hated thongs, too, but have developed a tolerance for them of late.

hubby never wore sandals..however on occasion he has worn flip flips..last time he did , he slipped on wet steps and hurt his back very very badly last summer...as a diabetic, he shouldn't wear flip flops anyway, as they can rub blisters...at least flip flops give me blisters if i wear them for long periods of times..sighs..

I may not have taken regional conditions into consideration. But for the most part I dont see as many men wearing sandals as women. I live in NYC and for the most part unless your a Hare Krishna male or a 50's style beatnik (arent many of those) I dont see many men wearing them. I really do think there is a master plan of some foot fetishist to have women wear them more then men (smile)!

Plenty of guys wear sandals in the summer, myself included. I think the reason why there's such a sandal disparity between men and women is that women can wear them as appropriate summer attire, even to their places of employment. There are dressy sandals that cost more than just about any men's shoes (excluding of course my prized Ferrogamos 😀 ) that allow women to wear sandals and meet most standard dress codes.

Men on the other hand, generally only wear sandals in a casual atmosphere. At home, on the beach, etc. We don't wear them to the office, as they are taboo, even on Casual Friday.

I don't know, I am the most comfortable in socks and in my Nikes - nothing better then a pair of Shoxs but I do have a pair of Adidas you could call them sandals that I wear to the beach.

Customs

It's a custom for women to wear more revealing clothing (and tight clothing, too) than men do. So I guess that's why female foot wear reveals more of the foot than what men wear on their dogs.
