Why do people who are ticklish claim they arent? 😀 I meen c'mon u meet someone and u finally get to the ticklish question and bam!!! No of course im not...then ya just gotta find out 😀 whats the deal with that?

Probably they hate being tickled and most people think that there is no point is trying to 'tickle' a non-ticklish person. Just my own opinion, and nothing more. The people that I have asked, "Are you ticklish?", generally say "Yes". Not a single person that I have asked has said no. Great post SAIXA and keep up the good work!

When I get asked that question I'll sometimes say "No." 90% of the time the asker will proceed to tickle me anyway, and 50% of the time she will then squeal something about "punishing me for lying" and keep tickling till I'm a basket case.

I've experimented with responding "No comment" or "I choose not to answer." Don't get "punished for lying" that way, but the asker pretty much tickles 100% of the time.

Come to think of it, though, I actually don't get asked the question all that often. More often the person will take the initiative of tickling me first, and then--as I've mentioned elsewhere on the board--she'll respond to my reaction by smiling like she's just been given a terrific present. THEN I'll often get mocking and triumphant comments like "You're ticklish!!!" (followed, of course, by further tickling), presumably amused because either I don't look or seem like I'd be ticklish or because guys aren't supposed to be that ticklish.

I usually say I'm not ticklish because I know that people don't believe me and will try to prove me wrong...hey, any tickling I can get, I accept with gratitude...and if I have to tell a little lie, eh, is that so bad??? 😛 😛 😛

You have to phrase it so it is not a question. lol

I wanted to know if this one guy I "met" online was ticklish, after he sent me his pic. He was looking all serious, and I said to him "You look too serious, someone needs to sneak up from behind and tickle you."

He then proceed to laugh, and tell me how ticklish he was.

Camel 26 has hit the nail on the head - a little reverse psychology works wonders 😉

In many cases, denying it is a polite way for someone to end the conversation if the topic is making him or her uncomfortable.

If ever I'm asked if I'm ticklish, it depends on the person whether I say "yes" or "no". I'm primarily a 'ler, but I don't mind being tickled by a guy (a friend, or more-so someone I'm attracted to) every now and then. So if someone like that asks me, I'd say "yes", because 9 times out of 10, if they ask they're probably going to proceed to do it. But if someone approaches me that I don't know or am uncomfortable with the thought of them touching me and they ask if I'm ticklish, my answer would be a forceful "no" and hopefully their thoughts of getting their hands on me ends then and there.
