WhyI will root for our local NFL team even though I care nothing about football.

The local New York Giants football team will play the San Francisco '49ers on Sunday, January 22. I couldn't care less who wins the Superbowl this year or any year but I will be rooting for NY over SF. Why is that?

Every major city has its sports fanatics, people who root for all of the teams in that city. In San Francisco, they are fans of the hated jints. These very same fanatics will be rooting for their '49ers. Thus, if the '49ers lose, and fail to advance to the Superbowl, it will make a large number of fans of the hated jints unhappy.

Therefore I will be rooting for our local NY Giants (football team) to beat them. 😀

Not only am I a diehard 49ers fan and hope they kick the Giant's ass this Sunday, should they fall, I will be rooting for whoever plays the Giants in the Super Bowl. I am sick and tired of loudmouth, arrogant teams that mug the camera and mic every chance they get. First it was the Jets, and now the Giants have picked up where they left off. The game is still several days away and already several Giants players and shooting their mouths off about how great they are and how they're definitely going to beat the Niners. You know, if you're confident, fine, but there's a difference between confidence and arrogance.

Giants, I hope you lose and I hope you continue to lose

Okay. I don't really see where either team has said much of anything, so I guess we have a different perception of loudmouth teams.
