Wife older than the husband

I am curious about something is there anybody who knows a case in which the wife is much older than the husband?
My mother is 10 years older than my father, and I only know of another case, a Vietnamese married with a 10 years younger canadian man.
However I do now so many cases of the opposite, i.e, the man being the older.
Has everybody the same experience?, is so much more rare the women to be the older in marriages?

I know a guy at work who is 49 and his wife is 64.They have been married over twenty years and are still happy.I had a cousin who was married to a guy 25 years her senior and they had a wonderfull marrige.Age race or sex should not matter.

A dear friend of mine; his father is 46 and his mother is 55. Not too much of an age gap, but she is the elder one.

My sister in law is about ten years older than my brother, her husband. They're in the 21st year of happy marriage now, with an absolutely amazing little beauty of a 14 year old daughter. My niece is a beauty, an athlete, AND a brainiac! If I sound liuke a doting uncle, yeah, so?

Statistically, the divorce rate among couples with the woman at least 5 years older than the man is only HALF the divorce rate among the far more numerous male older couples! Why? Ain't got a clue.

I don't think this is so weird. "Older" women are more serene, more settled in general. They have their own careers, if they have kids, they're doing it on their own, and without a man previously...They have more experience in the bedroom and know a LOT more tricks to satisfy both of them~not such a mystery I think...

I think age is just a number

In my younger, single years, I have dated women ranging from three years younger than me to seven years older than me. In most cases it was the woman that was older. I guess mostly it was that I always appeared older than I actually was. When my friends and I were not old enough to drink, I was always the one sent in to the liquor store to buy whatever, and almost never got carded. Anyway, I always found that older women were more experienced in alot of different ways, and it always made for a better date. My wife is 14 months older than me, and we have been married for 14 years.

Ironically, now people who don't know my age say that I appear younger than what I am, which I don't mind at all.

As I said before, age is just a number.

My question was a simple observation about the fact that it seems much more common to find couples in which the man is older than vice versa, not that the woman being older was weird in any way.
Same in history I can quote Berenice being 38 and Tito 26, and they were together for 12 years, but I could quote a hundred of the opposite.

You like history, have you read the letter of B. Franklin to a friend about the advantages of choosing a woman older than you over one younger than you?, Dated 25 June 1745. Albeit it refers about the advantages of older lovers over younger ones, it does apply very much for wifes and women in general. I think that the answer to the statistics you quote is in that letter, unfortunately I do not have it in English but only in Castilian, my mother tongue,so I can not send it to you.

I have a friend at work who is 10 years older than her husband, they are both still together and considering what they've both been through recently, I'm not surprised as there illnesses have brought them closer.

From what she says they met when he was 19 and she 29 and they only got married a year ago in December and been together 14 years in total. During this time she has suffered from breast cancer and he has had testicular cancer and only been through another gruelling operation to remove a further growth in his stomach.

To me it shouldn't matter that the female of the relationship is older, as long as there is love, caring, understanding and some interests, then what does it matter about age 🙂 At the end of the day, you can't help who you fall in love with whether they be same age, younger or older, as long as they are both legal of course 😉
