After 14 seasons,Will Shields retired Monday.Sheilds was the Outland Trophy winner in 1992 after his senior year at Nebraska.A third round draft choice in 1993 by the K.C. Chiefs,Shields became the starting right guard in his second regular season game and started 223 straight games,a Chiefs record.
In 14 seasons Shields was elected to 12 straight Pro Bowls, also a Chiefs record.A gentle giant off the field,Sheilds struck terror into the hearts of linebackers and defensive backs that crossed his path.
We here in K.C. are fortunate that Will and his family plan to make K.C. their home. His Will To Succeed Foundation has helped countless abused women and children in K.C.,and he is involved in other charties as well.
