Many are predicting the apocalypse as the NHL Players Association and the NHL are faced with the grim prospect of hammering out a new CBA... the current CBA expires July 1. Do you think there will be a season in the fall?

It's always been the toughest ticket to get in town, even during the "Ballard" years and rebuilding phases. The fact is, hockey will ALWAYS sell in this market and most Canadian markets. However, a prolonged stoppage will kill the game in most U.S. markets where they're fighting a losing battle to sell hockey anyway. I mean really, hockey in Nashville and Florida? San Jose and Phoenix? Anaheim and Carolina? The league and its teams would benefit greatly if the number of teams were cut to suit only those cities which are proven hockey markets eg. NY, Minnesota, Detroit, Boston, Chicago, etc... although Boston and Chicago have struggled with attendance in recent years. This would also increase the talent base on any given team, if the league were to go back to say, 21 teams instead of 30. It's a pipe dream I know, because the players union would never agree to it. But I think it needs to happen... and if there is a long work stoppage, it just might.leafstk said:Unfortunately, I have to agree with you, Lime 🙁 I guess we'll see what happens... the whole Bertuzzi issue rising again this weekend just in time for the draft does not help things, lol 🙄
