Windows 8 users with chat issues?

(Oh, gee, if I scroll a bit further than I'm used to, there IS a Technical Assistance forum!)

So I've got Windows 8, with Microsoft Edge. I hate Microsoft Edge. It has java "built in" it says. But it doesn't do TMF chat, which tells me to "get java."

So I went to Firefox. I got the same message. So I went to get java. Got java. Still got no TMF chat. So I got Chrome. I got java. Still got no TMF chat.

What am I doing wrong? (And the first person who says "You're using Windows 8" will get *such* a shot!) 🙂

I'm getting the same problem.
Learnt so far that my Google Chrome browser, despite me having the latest java, "NO LONGER SUPPORTS JAVA"
Presumably a security issue or maybe a competitive commercial issue.
WOT A LOAD OF BOG-LOCKS !

The best advice i've found for me, and probably you too, is to use Internet Explorer, which,apparently, supports java.
Again my reaction is NO, I don't want to do that , NO I don't want to use IE , or soon Edge.

This TMF site should get "with it" and update its code from the stoneage to 21st century.
