How can you purge the history of ALL windows search fields and "accessed files" ... I fckn HATE it when a friend of mine is in our place and goes to my computer without asking... then I'm always in fear, that he's going to go to "SEARCH" and try every 1st letter, until there will appear something like: "Tickling" and then the questions start flowing... so can anyone help me keep my secret?

I don't want windows to register my every moves and if so ... how can I delete my registers once in a while... WITHOUT FORMATTING/Re-installing windows >_<

nothing that big... but any "drive:\Windows\some hidden bogey file, that microsoft keeps a 10000 of in windows" , what can be empty sometime? x_X

Please... this is a BIG problem for me... that every fckn program (including Paint, lol...) registers my every moves... the entire windows... I mean omg it knows everything about me. I hate Billy Gates for inventing a big spyware like this, that keeps every single logs on... and I suspect, that microsoft has put some ports open in windows, that they can use to secretly scan the comps of people WITHOUT PERMISSION AND RESPECT FOR PRIVACY...

and because MS Paint registers too much things too... and I can never tell, what my friends will look at my computer with random choosing... paint (I HATE THIS) registers: "Last picture : tickling.jpg" (for example) .... mrrrr.... I could draw something for you people here or edit some pictures... but because I'm afraid to, because there's alot of things I must do just before shutting down Windows

1. Play another file on realplayer, so it doesn't show the "last played file" when you open it.

2 . Clear the Start-menu bar's "Recently viewed" thingy

3. Open more than 5 pictures, if I accidently open a ".bmp" filetype, that Paint automaticly opens (!!! OMG I DON'T WANT MY WINDOWS TO DO THINGS, NOT ASKING ME) and then "tadaa" ... more history... more dirt on me... Mrrr... it happens when I'm in here or somewhere and people put ".bmp" and not ".jpg" ... (omg bmp takes more space and is suckier because of that, which I just told you)

4. delete the internet history of Mozilla Firefox

5. Go to "Search" and select: "HISTORY" and delete the "Yesterday/Today" folders...

6. ALOT OF MORE THINGS >_<

^^^ HELPPP!! 🙁 🙁 🙁

okay i can help you... this is very simple. on your desktop right-click on internet explorer. then select properties. that should open up a window that has buttons that say "delete cookies" Delete Files" and "Clear History" if you use those buttons, your internet explorer should be completely purged of your former online actions. there is also a program out there called clean cache. it has options to completely erase almost everything that windows keeps a record of. search for that on google. with that being said.. good luck to you and happy surfing 🙂

Hi,
Here's the best tip you'll ever get! go to:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~mp2004/

and download Dclean! I've used it for years and it works great,
fast too. Use it every time you shut down. Very easy to install too.
Use a program like Ad aware SE to remove spyware and those
MRU's that also track your keyboard actions.

Good luck! (Did I say it's FREE!)

Meow!

I see you got the IE delete option above....for the rest of them, I have solutions.

1. Open RealPlayer, Select Tools, then Preferences, under General you will see a History section. Select Clear History and uncheck "Enable a history list in the File menu."

2. Right-click on Start, select Properties, select the Start Menu tab if it isn't selected already, click Customize, Advanced, and uncheck List my most recently opened documents, then Clear List. This is only applicable if you have Windows XP Let me know if you have a different version.

3. Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types>FInd BMP, click Change next to Opens With, and select a different program. Again, I am pretty sure this is only valid for Windows XP.

4. Open Firefox, click Tools at top, select Options, select Privacy, whatever you need to delete.

5. I am not sure I understand what you mean.

6. Explain.

I hope that helps!

The antispyware program XCleaner... has an option to delete the history, cache, cookies, and some of the recent-file lists. The outstanding Mozilla Firefox browser ... allows one-button cleaning of the entire browsing history.

Thanx for the XCleaner link, Mistress.
And firefox is for shure a very good alternative to the IE.
