Stupid choices, I hate choices. Anyway, which one is better, Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro? I can't tell the difference between the two, and Microsoft can't tell me either, so what's the difference between these two? Any help/input is appreciated. Thanks!

I was told to go with the "Pro" edition. I was told it was much better, though humorously, no one could tell me WHY it was much better.

I have run both, and frankly, I DO like Pro better. I've had less compatability issues with it as far as other programs or new hardware goes. But I have no idea what's different between the two, or why Pro runs better.

quite simple, PRO. You can install it on multiple PCs ( which is not the case with the home edition ). Also, PRO has more features ( don't ask me which, I forgot 😀 ). Hmmm, I also think it's easier to take back-ups with the PRO edition, but I am unsure. Oh well, guess I'll learn all about it in this year's course at school ( Operating systems 😀 ).

Hope I kinda helped and did not confuse you more than you already are 😛

😀 A couple of other options Pro has that Home doesn't
is that Pro can view another computer's data on the other computer. I believe it is called Remote access. I believe it can work if you know both computer's usernames and passwords. Also, these would have to be computers in the same network area.
🙂

PRO...that way you can network your PC's and laptops together EASILY
And yes backup in INTEGRATED into PRO and remote Access is a big feature.

Basically HOME sucks, it forces you to put your computer on a virtual island.
Go with Pro.

Thanks you guys! My boss has Pro and he likes the Remote Access feature, too. I have Home, but the school I work for has Pro for faculy/employee use, so I didn't know which was better.
