Hey, is there anybody here who is a real witch?Or believes in witches, vampires, ghosts, slayers, and demons?

I don't necessary believe or don't believe in them. There are many mysteries of the world, and I don't dismiss a one.

May I ask why you ask? lol

Pawz

i believe in such things as witches and vamps. it may sound stupid or odd but iv looked in2 the dark arts and me and a few frends c r selfs as slayers yet we have not encounterd eny true witches or vamps but the belief still remains

Well since the white withches of Britain cursed the first Harry Potter movie to be a flop I can't say I do believe.

There are witches and I've met several.

No, they don't fly around on broom sticks.
Yes, they do cast spells.
No, I don't believe their spells work.

The witches I met (two years ago) were part of an college seminar on different types of cultures. They explained that Wicca (their association) was a religeon.

They said that they would not admit to making animal sacrifices, but they said it in such a way as to leave you the idea that they have, they just knew better than to admit it.

The three I met were homely, and seemed kind of maladjusted. I don't want to get into the details here.

I noticed that all three of them (one male, two female) were economically poor. (You could tell they were cheaply dressed and I observed that they each drove a falling apart POS car). From that, I deduce that their spells don't work.

Yes, I am a witch, and there have been witches in my family for several generations.

If you believe only when your prayers are answered then your faith could best be described as shaky. HARRY POTTER did not flop because it was not its destiny to do so. The White Witches should have understood the movie(s) do not show witchcraft in a bad or derogatory light; in fact it is shown that students of supernatural arts must be very careful in learning them to avoid catastrophe.

How interesting, Corruptress. I know from your posts on this forum that you are intelligent and articulate. I sense a chance to learn here.

You make a valid point:
If you believe only when your prayers are answered then your faith could best be described as shaky.
Maybe my deduction that their spells didn't work, based on their lack of economic means, is not valid.

If I offended you in any way with my earlier post I appologize. I make it a hard and fast rule not to demean another person's religeon. I've had a very limited contact with Wiccans. As I said, I've only met three people who admitted to practicing witchcraft.

I'm curious about the white witch / black witch thing. The guys I talked to said nothing about this. Can you elaborate? BTW, which witch are you?

Merrie meet (traditional Wiccan greeting):

Relax, I was not offended. Since childhood I have been meeting people who were curious. Some were offended, others thought I am my family were all crazy, others even offered to pray for us "that we would find the right path". Jinkies!
My family have been Wiccans for many generations. My mother said she cast a spell to make certain I, the first born, would be female. I myself cast a success spell before I graduated college and was offered a job the day before graduation!

"I'm curious about the white witch / black witch thing. The guys I talked to said nothing about this. Can you elaborate? BTW, which witch are you?"

We are all White Witches. That is we live by the code that says "Do what thou wilt, but harm no one." We do things to help ourselves or other people. Dark Witches do just the opposite, they try to help themselves by doing things that are harmful to other people. My grandmother is also a Water Witch, she can find water sources deep within the ground. In her time she has helped many people locate sources for wells.

fascinating.

the guys I talked to in that class indicated that they had their roots in Druidism, although there was more to Wicca than just that. I came away with the impression that for the most part, they worshiped the earth and elements, not Satan. Is this true?

A bit of clarification

From a practicing Wiccan (Eclectic Style, Celtic Tradition);

"Witch" is used currently as a general term for the various styles and traditions of Wicca; (Gardnerian, Eclectic, etc), which, to simplify it, is a religion that worships a Goddess (and many times, a counterpart God) as the deity(s) of the highest level, in the same manner as the Hebrew God, or the Muslim Allah (we also believe that everyone who prays to "God" worships the same entity, that we just call him/her by different names and worship in our own fashions. The Wiccan God/Goddess are just the complementing halves of the whole (Yin/Yang, Anima/Animus, etc etc)

Witches do not worship Satan; as a matter of fact, most of us don't even believe in him.

Witches *do* cast spells; however, these spells are no different than a Catholic lighting a votive candle and saying a Novena to St Jude; You light a candle, burn some incense, and concentrate on the purpose at hand....every religion has it rituals; we just make more tools for them. (wands, staffs, athamae and bollen (ritual knives), oils, etc)

Witches do NOT, as a rule, sacrifice animals...the first rule of Wicca is "As Ye Harm None, Do As You Will"...and the great majority believe that includes animals. Most "blood-drinkers" are guys who played WAY too much D & D in High School, and just wanna scare people.

A note on curses; A "white witch" who lays a curse on someone is looking for a major Karmic payback; the Threefold Law is that whatever action/energy you release into the world, will be returned upon you threefold...good = three times the good, bad = three times the bad, etc. Who wants that kind of hassle?

My best friend in New Mexico is a practicing Wiccan & is also a medium. I also believe in spirits too. While in New Mexico, we had a few spirits around the house, one that was malevelant. She had done a reading on our house (one of her favorite things to do) & managed to get block the bad one from coming back.

After that, there was more 'activity' in the house. Things started becoming 'misplaced', mostly our housemate's things. The TV would start changing channels all by itself, going repeatedly to HBO when they were showing some sex shows while the remote was all the way across the room.

I don't know, but I think wicca or whatever does work. It really depends on how talented you are. Just like VooDoo. A friend of mine said he knew a VooDoo priestess that could do some crazy ass shit, but I don't know.

Psycho

Im a witch too, albeit a male one. There is so much stigma attached to witchcraft. That we eat newt eyes and sacrifice sheep. It annoys me that people are so blind that they refuse to accept the wiccan faith as a whole religion.

Being a wiccan is actually a religion, it doesnt necessarily have to involve witchcraft, although many wiccans do practice it (Me as one).

For those curious, the wiccan faith involves an awareness of nature and the world around us. We believe in the God and the Goddess, the 'spirit' of this world, and we also believe in the 'Sommerlands', which is a wiccan version of heaven, however, we then go back to Earth to gather more experience and to enrich out souls.

A rather brief intro to Wicca, but I hope it removes the stigma for at least some people.

From one Wiccan to another, Blessed be, brother. My grandparents, my parents, my sister and I have been trying to remove the stigma for years. Someday we will succeed.

Merrie Meet, merrie depart, merrie meet again.

u r right

onatha, you are absolutly right. i have no idea why people think that wiccas only sacrifice animals and all this newt eye stuff. it's all a lie! and back then when they burned witches, it was only because they thought that we worshiped the Evil One. they never even considered our religion. It sucks. without us, there wouldn't even be medicine.
