No,science is once again incorrect we are soo not animals. If we were animals we could not think or act the way we do because we wouldn't be smart enough and we wouldn't live in houses we would live outside like all other animals
Define 'outside'. Some birds make nests. Bears find themselves caves. Woodpeckers carve themselves their homes. Moles live underground, constantly burrowing through, making themselves homes. Ant colonies are complex underground tunnels not quite unlike human catacombs. So, tell me, do those animals live 'outside'?
Every human acts in the boundaries of what he/she has learned. We act according to our experience. That our brain has evolved and we are able to learn more complex works is a matter of evolution in that direction (humans rely on their intellect, having less able bodies than animals).
Then why don't we walk, talk or act like animals?
We do act like animals in some ways. Try to put a man in the wilderness, and he will soon become quite animal-like. We still have the urge to breed, we still have mating rituals like most animals, courting (yes, animals do court as well, and there are some animals that bring their ladies food and stuff... kind of like when we bring our girls flowers), feeding, drinking, sleeping.
Even animals differ greatly among themselves. In the same way you could say that an ant is not an animal because it is different from an elephant who is. I mean, they don't act, talk or walk alike. And I don't even want to talk about fishes.
