Wooden bats instead of Aluminum bats in little league baseball
Recently, a 10 boy died in a freak accident; the boy was hit in the chest with a baseball it with an aluminum bat. The ball hit the boy in the right spot of his chest in just the right time to cause him to have a heart attack and died.
The parents of the boy blame the aluminum bat because of the speed the ball come off the bat. He believes the ball would have traveled slow if was hit by a wooden bat; which he believe would have given his son more time to react.
Pro-aluminum bats parents believe wooden bats are more dangerous than an aluminum one. They believe wooden bat has a tendency to crack and splitter causing danger to kids on the field, the batter, the catcher and the umpire In addition, the wooden bats are heavier and hard to maintain control of.
The father is suing the maker of the aluminum bat and the little league organization because they allow the use of the bats. Again, the boy died in a freak accident; which could have been avoided if the parents would have purchase a $20.00 chest protector.
Do you think aluminum bats should be banned from using in little league baseball?
