WOOOO!!! UFC Legendary Battle.

Liddell by KO in the first round. He's better technically than Wandy and Wandy will take a punch to land one. As epic as this fight is meant to be, if Liddell keeps his focus, he should win in under 5 minutes.

Its about time they fight!!I have no predictions for this match,I just want to enjoy the fight,it has been a looonnng time in the making.Sherks hearing is Wednesday,he is rumored to be fighting BJ that same night if he wins his appeal.UFC 79 is looking stellar!! 😎

I think Liddell may be on his way down. He's 38, and if he loses, I am betting he will retire, and he may even if he wins.

I would have preferred if this match had been 3 or 4 years ago.

Admittedly, this fight is taking place after both fighters have stumbled a little. Neither is at the peak of their game, but for something like this, you take what you can get. Still calling Liddell by KO in Round 1.

I said before I have no prediction on a winner but I do have predictions for possible outcomes,if that makes sense.I have been drinkin' a little.A Chuck victory will be a one punch ko.Chuck has a few advantages, one being Wandys first fight in the UFC in a long time, two being Wandy is going to come right at him. That is when Chuck is the most dangerous. On the other hand,a Wandy victory I believe will be a mauling. If Wandy wins it is gonna be brutal.Snail said it best when he said Wandy will take one to give one, which is a problem with Liddell because''he has dynamite in his hands.''Lets just hope for a good one fellas. :woot:
I am also watching the UFC press conference right now, what a mess. Its probably not right but what if this thing is for publicity. They said before Fedor is not well known in the states, what if this whole thing is to build his name and build a fight between him and Randy.Think about it,that fight would be so much bigger now just because of all the drama.Probably not the case but we can hope.

Honestly, I could care less about Couture/Fedor. If I had to pick, I'd say Couture because it's in a cage and because, c'mon, it's Randy Couture.

I'm more interested in the fate of the lightweight belt and Sean Sherk.

I respect Couture a lot, but I still pick Fedor as the winner if they fight each other.

I prefer to wait the complete UFC 79 before I rate it.

What are your guys thoughts on the Gonzaga/Werdum fight for UFC 80?That is a very even fight.I didnt see there previous fight but I heard it was good.Werdum won that fight but I believe Gonzaga has improved more since then.As much as I dislike Gonzaga, because he knocked out my favorite fighter,he is tough competitor.

Cro Cop ?

Hell yeah.I guess you can say I am a Crocop nuthugger.I would love to see him back strong and possibly win the belt. His ground game has definately improved and in an interview he stated he would be gaining weight for his future fights. In my opinion, wrestling is what he should be trying to improve to adapt to the cage. We'll see..........🙂

Lesnar/Mir for UFC 81......Interesting match up.You have to lean towards Mir only because so much is unknown about Brock.Cant wait to see this one. :bump:

If Lesnar survives the 1rst round, he could win because Mir has a mediocre stamina.

Thats true.I will say though, he does look in better shape than he used to.Can you imagine Lesnar with a wicked ground and pound? He might pound you right through the mat.

If I was Lesnar, I would not try to GnP Mir (at least in the 1rst round). See what happened to Sylvia at UFC 48.

In a recent interview Andreson Silva stated he might consider moving up in weight to challenge fot the title. How about that fight,Silva/Rampage.I see Anderson taking that based on Rampages history with Chute Box.Thats a dream match right there. What do you guys think on that match up?

Silva will reighn as middleweight champ a long time, but gaining 20 lbs. will hurt his ability to throw strikes.

Spider fighting at 205 lbs ? Strange rumors... I remember he started his career at 170 lbs.
I won't believe it until I see Spider at the weighing.

Latest on the news feed about UFC 79. Matt Serra is injured and out of the contest. The main event has been reset to Matt Hughes vs., oh yeah, Georges St. Pierre, the winner getting Serra when he recovers.

Ultimately, this is a disappointment because the Hughes/GSP triliogy could ONLY truly end with the belt on the line. Such is life. GSP has taken right into Hughes twice already and come out 1 and 1. If he keeps his head on straight and fights his fight, GSP should win by TKO again, probably in the second round, again. The only way for Hughes to win is to get GSP down, get on top of him and keep him there.

This is a disappointment for me simply because I wanted to see Serra blow it against Hughes and GSP take the belt off Hughes one more time, but hey, you can't have everything, can you? Afterwards, GSP taking Serra apart should follow in suit, followed by Karo Parisyan and Jon Fitch.

Anyways, thoughts on the change of card?

War GSP ! :firedevil I know he can beat Hugues again. He lost the 1rst bout at UFC 50 only because he was too respectful towards Hughes. Then Hugues dissed on GSP because of his Quebecer accent and origins, so he lost GSP's respect.

It just got announced that Serra is out for an indefinite amount of time and that the Hughes/GSP fight on Dec. 29 will be for the interm championship. 5 rounds, not 3. The whole nine yeards. 😀

I'm leaning toward Liddell. His striking power is incredible...

He is powerful but most of his highlight ko's are against grapplers.People who dont have the greatest striking skills.I am going with Wanderlai BUT I can see Silva rush in and get caught with a straight right ala Mirko/Silva when Wandy rushed in and ate a straight left.As far as Hughes/St Pierre I am sticking with Hughes.Lack of sufficient preparation for Georges as well as the fact that he probably feels Matt is taylor made for him may be his downfall.Which is justified,he owned Matt in there last fight and really took it to Matt in there first fight. At the same time,Hughes as been training for Serra, now he gets thrown a MAJOR curveball. As a long time Hughes fan, I am going to support him win or lose.
