Would an M or f notation make chatroom life easier?

Hello everyone. I've spent some time in the chatroom recently and as in many others the first question is "M or f." I was wondering if there was A way to put an M or f notation after everyones name to eliminate the need to ask. It might also be a nice touch on everyone's profile since not all handles make it obvious. I've seen this in other chatrooms and it works quite well. Let's hear what members think.

AFA the chat room goes, people are free to sign in however they like. I always tack my name onto the handle so people know which of us (drew or myself) they're talking to. Others could easily do the same. The BIG problem (for me, anyway) comes in when guys pose as women to try to get me into a PC and then make it obcious that it's a guy by how they act. This is the main reason I no longer accept PCs. If people would be honest and just tack it on when they sign in, it WOULD be a good idea.

I think that's a great idea too but as Ann said there are lots of guys who for some reason like to pose as women online. Almost all of us have been dupped by that a time or 2.

Since there's no way to truly validate which sex each login might be, and since people can and do login under other screen names, I don't think this will work.

You can generally tell a person's sex by how they reply in the chatroom or in posts. One of the guys who came to my New Years Party has a sure fire way to separate out the men from the ladies with a few questions. It's a pretty easy way to do it and from what I saw it worked 100% of the time. I won't give away his secret but I will tell you that I've used it and it's worked for me as well.

Another thing is that often the women don't want to be recognized right off since we generally get im'd like crazy. Since my name starts with QB guys often think I'm a guy who likes to play football! I do like football but I'm FAR from QB material! LOL Generally it only takes a bit of chatting in the room to figure out who's what and then take it from there.

Good idea though! Keep 'em coming.

Not meaning to sould cynical but the M/F notation would indeed eliminate the 'asking" but it would not guarantee that you are talking to who you THINK you are talking to! Meaning it would not eliminate the Impersonators.

Thanks for the feedback. While I'm well aware that people lie like bandits on the net, hell more guys are girls on here then in Le Cage, sex designations would still cut down on the IMs mistakenly sent by those looking for the opposite sex who are lucky enough to find someone honest. For now I'm going to ad M after my handle and encourage others to follow suit. M or f will make life A little smoother for those looking for A playmate. Thanks again.

Of course after all the trouble of decoding... we will also have to teach the guys reading comprehension.
