i watched a recent live concert with Rush....sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit...they still rock the house down...ok it was 2005..it was their 30th anniversary concert...i mean wowow...i don't know of hardly any new rock band that can equal Rush...the drummer was so damn good...he was like the old jazz drummers of old that my dad loved...Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich etc...the guitarist wow...he can rock with the best of them...and Geddi Lee..fuck what a voice..he still has the range..and can sing on pitch..these guys rocked for two solid hours and never once tired or sang out of pitch...

the guy known as Daughtery? or whatever his name is? he sings flat..most of the groups today when performing live, fail to live up to their studio performance...i can think of Disturbed and Three Days Grace that can actually perform live in tune...

what is with today's music? lip synching seems to be the norm...

i watched a concert with Deep Purple...and even as old as the singer is..he can sing on pitch and damn he has some range...

I gotta admit, try as I might, I could never get into Rush as many friends did, but I admire their staying power, their perfectionism, their loyalty to their fans(and visa-versa). I saw that same concert you're talking about over visiting with an old friend who is a Rush MANIAC, and like I said, they don't do it for me, but I had to admire them for the love they put into what they do.

Yeah, even now rush remains a pretty solid band. I am still waiting for the day that I get to see them live... I keep failing for random reasons.

Due to the nature of my work, I got the opportunity to watch a RUSH concert recently (last year) and I definitely have to agree with the above. Getty Lee sang perfectly, which I would assume would be difficult to do over time, and I think that show was one of Alex Lifeson's best done. I consider it one of the best concerts I have seen in the building I work in. (Of course I've seen Aerosmith, U2, The Who, Def Leppard twice, CSN&Y, John Fogarty, Coldplay, Bob Dylan (soon to be twice), Bon Jovi, Elton John, Billy Idol and that's not even a 1/4 of the list and all of those, save for The Who, I got paid for 🙂 )

wow BigDogg...did you ever see STevie Ray??? i had tickets but couldn't go..which i regret and will regret forever...

Rush's lightshow was awesome..imagine seeing that live instead of on tv..even if it was high def...and Geddi yes..he can still hit those high notes without a bit of trouble..

Unfortunately, I have not seen Stevie Ray Vaughn at this point and I really wish I could have as well. 🙁
