I love all sorts of music and sometimes the words do get in the way. With that in mind, I choose as my favorite instrumental: "Love's Theme", by Love Unlimited Orchestra... Barry White's baby.

"The William Tell Overture"... "1812 Overture"... "The Liberty Bell", which is the theme song for 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' comedy shows... and "The Theme From 'The Pink Panther'", by Henry Mancini.

Begins and ends with "The Godfather Waltz"! If I even think of it, it stays in my head for days! Although, there are words to it. If you listen carefully, in GF2, young Vito (DeNiro) comes home to his family on the steps, he picks up little Michael and says "Your father loves you very much.." and in the background a guy is playing the guitar and singing Italian lyrics to the tune.

La Villa Strangiato, Where's My Thing?, YYZ and Leave That Thing Alone by Rush.

Peter Gunn - the Emerson Lake and Palmer version

Fanfare for the Common Man - also the ELP version

Little Boy Blues and Midsummer's Daydream by Triumph

Pretty much all of John Williams' Star Wars and Indiana Jones soundtracks

Spring Rain, by Silvetti.

OMGGG someone knows underground disco out here! A fuckin miracle! This was actualy gonna be the first one I was gonna mention and came to mind when I saw this thread. Others that come to mind are:

Atmosphere - Silvetti
Trocadero Suite - Alec R. Costandinos
Come Maddelina - Ennio Morricone
Shadow Of Your Smile - THP Orchestra

..I could go on and on but the true sounds of disco is what brought some of the most well produced and beautiful instrumental melodys of all time in my oppinion!
