First off, this is long so I'm sorry, just felt like writing. The foot monet is at teh bottom during "other matches." Did anyone else catch Wrestlemania 22? It was a great event. The crowd was great. They were into the matches and caught me off guard a few times. First off, my favorite matches were the Money in the Bank(RVD), Edge vs. Foley(Edge), McMahon vs. Michaels(HBK), Trish vs. Mickey James(MJ), the World Heavyweight Match(Rey Mysterio), and the WWE Championship Match(Cena). The womens match was a good one, one of the best womens matches I've ever seen. The crowd was into it and not because they took off clothes. And about halfway through the match the crowd started booing Trish and cheering Mickey. She didn't do anything to make them boo they just started doing it. Mickey did some moves and they cheered like hell. I've never heard a women wrestler cheered in the ring like that without removeing clothes. Good match though and Mickey won with that Chick Kick.
Money in the Bank was great but shorter than I expected. Lasted, I would say, about ten minutes, maybe a little over. Shelton Benjamin did the best spots. He ran up a ladder that was leaning on the rope and did a swanton onto four others standing outside, nice. Later he did this sort of Spider Man thing. The camera was focused on RVD on the ladder then, out of nowhere, Benjamin jumps onto the ladder at the same height as RVD. I think he ricocheted off the ropes on the ladder, they didn't show. It was nice though and everyone was surprised. RVD did a splash off the ladder at one point but won when he knocked Matt and Shelton off the ladder.
Edge vs. Foley was nice. Foley at one point did the mandible claw with socko wrapped in barbed wire on Edge then Lita. Lita was bleeding from her mouth, it was nasty. A lot of blood in the match, A WHOLE LOT. Edge was slammed on thumbtacks. At the end, a table was set on fire by Lita. Mick was on the outside of the ropes and Edge speared him between the ropes through the table that was on fire. Edge pinned him outside and won.
McMahon/Michaels was good too. About five minutes or so into the match the Spirit Squad interfered but were soon fought off by Michaels. Michaels was going for the Sweet Chin Music when Shane appeared with that Kindo Stick. He pulled out handcuffs but McMahon wanted him to make Shawn kiss his ass. Shawn fought him off and put Shanes face into his ass. Vince thought it was Michaels and was happy. Eventually Shane got handcuffed outside the ring to the bottom rope and tore up with the Kindo Stick. Michaels was going for SCM but stopped and got a ladder. Then stopped again to get the BIG one. He elbowed McMahon while he was on a table with a trash can over his head. It was great. He hit the SCM and won. Funny when vince was took out on the stretcher but had enough strength in him to give Shawn the middle finger.
The Triple Threat was good but shorter than I expected. Ran about fifteen minutes or so. Kurt double German Suplexed Randy and Rey. Kurt had Randy and Randy had Rey after Rey was caught while doing some move. It was a nice Suplex. There were nice moves during the match. Kurt made Randy and Rey tap within rive minutes but they held the ref while the other tapped and Kurt let go. Rey was booed the entire match pretty much. Not as bad as Cena but you could hear them. He won when he did the West Coast Pop on Randy. The crowd cheered him after that. I really wanted Kurt to win.
The rowdiest match of the night was Triple H vs Cena. They both had great entrances. Triple H had a Kings chair he sat in and had new music play while he sat there. Then his regular music hit and he made his way to the ring. He had on some type of Conan gear over his regular trunks, along with a crown. Then Cenas entrance was even better. A Great Depression video played and talked about how gangsters took it upon themselves to get what they wanted during that time. Then the regular ramp lifted and a 20,s or 30's gangsta car came out with people dressed up like they were from that time. They had guns and everything, it was nice. They were dressed like people who said "Yeah, see." Cena came out in a trench coat and had a gun under it, which he fired in the air. The match was rowdy. Cena was booed throughout but some people cheered him. At times it was like the crowd was all anti-Cena. At time it was half and half. They chanted "fuck you Cena," "Cena sucks," and you can't wrestle," among other things. Crowd was back and forth at one point. Some said Cena Sucks, others said lets go Cena. It was great, a great atmosphere for a title match. Cena eventually won when he made Triple H tap to the STFU. Great event.
Other Matches: Boogey man beat Booker T. One point he kissed Sharmelle with worms in his mouth and she ran away. Backstage, before the match, they were talking about it Book was a "freak magnet." Book said he wasn't after Sharmelle suggested he was. While they walked they ran into "other freaks." Ran into that Paul Burchill sword fighting with himself. Ran into Dibiase and Eugene doing a bet. They also ran into Snitsky kissing, sucking, and nibbling Mae Young sfoot. It was nasty but funny.
JBL beat Benoit. JBL did a few Eddie impersanations during the match which drew heat. The Pillow Fight was the least exciting match. I was hoping for nudity seeing as how they are Playboy bunnies. The crowd chanted "boring" at points but it ended eventually. And Big Show and Kane retained the titles. The Mcmahons "first family "prayer" was funny too. All in all, great show.

Sounds like a good show but I skipped it. Glad I did. Rey wins the HEAVYWEIGHT belt? What a joke. Look for him to drop it fast, maybe even tomorrow night. And yes once again for the zillionth time HHH lays down, taps out or however you want to put it yet again. He either needs to be a husband or retire because ever since he married Stephanie he sure as heck doesn't wrestle anymore. How many times is he gonna have to job??? He should call himself the King of Jobs. I want the mean, nasty ENTERTAINING Triple H back, not some panzy that has to let every wrestler on the roster beat him (including Jim Ross). Vince has turned him into the WWE joke. Anyway sounds like a fun show but not a great one. Glad I didn't waste 50 bucks on it. I might catch the DVD for 20.

Wrestlemania 22 was good, not great. Triple H/Cena was a decent match even though the title didn't change like everyone expected. Foley/Edge, Trish/Mickey, and HBK/McMahon were the other good matches. And the goofy bit with Booker T and the "freaks" bacstage was hysterical! The rest of the night all seemed built around Eddie Gurerro. Which is why Rey won the title.

I half expected Bret Heart to come out during the HBK match also a little touch that would of had a massive difference would be at the end HBK grab the mic and go something like "now hit my music" and play the D-X theme to show his change.

The pillow fight was the only highlight in the evening, all the other matched you could tell who was going to win. I would of liked to see Shelton win I'm not a fan of RVD - this was only to give him a pass to Raw.

Also can someone plz tell me what was the go with the intros for the HHH and Cena match??????????????????????????????????????

Kust

I feel bad that Eddie Gurerro passed but Rey should not have won... I think its getting dumb now..... It was good last night but not great! HHH needs to get nasty and play dirty again! its not as fun to watch if he isnt being the HHH that i grew love/hate!

It was ok. I wasn't expecting very much going into it, so in some respects it was actually better than I'd thought it would be. Couldn't fucking believe Cena won. I was really happy to see Rey win, he deserves it.

The HHH dressing as Conan thing was just weird. It didn't fit with his character.

The best match for me was between the Money in the Bank and the World Heavyweight Match. And I actually like both Triple H's and John Cena's entrances. I was surprised Cena won too but even more surprised Rey won. I think Rey deserves it. He's a great wrestler and has good matches. And I'm glad RVD won the MIB match and I hope Shelton Benjamin wins it next year. When he jumped onto that ladder, it was unbelievable.

I; for one, am glad that Cena and Mysterio won Sunday night. I have been a fan of Mysterio's since his ECW days. He is like Barry Sanders (If you don't know who he is, don't worry about it. Just know that Sanders was a legend in the NFL). Everyone knows that Mysterio has the ability to pull off a move/s that make the fans go wild. Rey shock the world when he pinned Kevin Nash the night after Rey lost his mask; and he shocked the world by becoming the lightest Heavyweight Champ. He is a great wrestler that deserves the title, and I hope that keeps that belt for a long time.

I don't know why or even when fans start booing Cena. I will admit that I do not watch Raw as frequently as I watch Smackdown. But I know that Cena does everything for the fans. I think that the fans who boo Cena are the ones who tried to get autographs from him but were denied in some way. You know, the 1 fan out of every 600 who stood out in the rain for 4 hours waiting to meet Cena, only to find out that he left when they finally got there. I guess all of those fans showed up for Wrestlemaina 22 and Raw Monday Night.

If one of your reasons why you hate Cena is that he does not wrestle the same way as past WWE/ECW/WCW wrestlers, just shut up!!! Most of those wrestlers don't wrestle like true wrestlers (those who actually participate in wrestling meets in high school, college, and in the Olympics). And yes, I am a fan of John Cena. It doesn't matter if he is champ or not, I will be a fan of his until he retires.

I also want to praise Kurt Angle. He is one of those true wrestlers mention earlier. Angle actually won a gold medal in Men's Freestyle in 1996. He (like Cena) took on all challengers, putting his title on the line. He didn't back down against the Undertaker, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, and RKO. I think that it is cool that now fans are referring to Angle's opponents when they say YOU SUCK! I enjoyed his time as World Heavyweight Champion, and I look forward to see him win another title. Angle is a true "Wrestling Machine"!!!

now i see they are runnin angles to exploit his death with chavo

This is the exact reason i disliked wwf and switched to wcw, right after brian pillmans death was exploited for ratings

also an annoyance, yes eddies death was tragic but why is he in the wwe hall of fame? I mean he wasnt a revolutionary wrestler, and he did wrestle some amazing matches but his gimmick was a joke stereotype most of the times. If theyre givin out the HOF simply for grieving purposes, where the hell was owen harts induction?

Thanks for pointing that out. I haven't watched WWE in a LONG time and I'm not gonna start again anytime soon.

TNA for me.

I'm sorry, but putting the World title on a midget gimmick wrestler is just totally ludicrous. It completely exposes the business to put a heavyweight championship on someone who is barely 5"4. I can't believe Vince would go this far to leech heat off of Eddie's death. Mysterio won't draw any money as a champion. They need to put the belt back on Angle or put it on Orton, and do it quickly !

So john arquette winning the wcw title years ago didnt expose the business?
Mysterio has amazing talent despite all the damage his knee's have taken and its the classic underdog story.

Plus, why would u want the title circulated between the same people non stop?

I agree. I hate seeing the same people getting the belt all the time. It looks like the WWE is starting to put other people on that championship level, people who definently deserve it. Rey is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE and one of the most entertaining. He brings a different style to that level and I'm glad he has the belt.

Yes but still, rey is not a mainstream headliner, people wouldnt pay because rey jr is the mainevent sad to say cuz all the fans now are braindead marks and not the smart marks of ecw days

I objected to eddie guererro winnin the heavyweight title, it didnt suit him. Yes he can wrestle but u cannot put cruisers up against regular heavyweights and expect good flow. Im suddenly reminded of nwo jumpin wcw and kevin nash throwin rey rey into a the side of a truck like a lawn dart with no effort.

If anyone for talent and heat, they should give the title to edge or rvd, both can wrestle fast and wrestle completely. And hell, hate to admit it but tits sell in wrestlin and lita has em

Vince Russo putting the WCW belt on Arquette was just as unbelievable as Mysterio's win at Wrestlemania, and contributed to the death of the company. Non-wrestlers and midget cruiserweights do not make viable, money drawing champions. Of course it would be great to see some new blood in the title picture, but Mysterio is not the answer. My two lasting images of Rey are the Kevin Nash "dart incident" on Nitro, and being swung like a baseball bat by the Big Show against a ringpost while strapped to a gurney. Even the smaller champions of the past ( Shawn, Jericho, Benoit etc.) come across as much more legit compared to Mysterio.
