Wrestling is Athletic theater. An X-Tream Sport with a fixed finnish, so to speak. It still involves great Athletics, and if Acrobatics is Sport then so is wrestling, if you look at it from the respective of camparing one match to another.

Stunt men do great acrobatics. If this true, then every show that employs stunt men is a sports show, and all action movies are sports.

Stunt work is an application of various sports - martial arts, gymnastics, and so on. It is not a sport in and of itself, but the people who do it are certainly athletes.

You could say the same of circus acrobats and strongmen. They take sports such as gymnastics and weightlifting, at which they have to be quite expert, and apply them in entertaining ways.

Professional wrestling is similar. It is more "full-contact" than stunt work though, while still having less contact than actual martial sports such as kick-boxing. The people who do it are athletes, and they practice several sports (including actual wrestling), but they apply their sports in a theatrical format, as entertainment.

Any presentation that relies on athletes applying sports expertise outside the traditional venue of the sport becomes difficult to classify. That's why today professional wrestling doesn't even pretend to be genuine, and instead calls itself "sports entertainment."

CASE CLOSED. Nobody said that Pro-Wrestlers aren't tough, athletic and talented. When you think about what they do night after night with no offseason they may be the greatest performers in the world...but pro-wrestling is not a sport. It's entertaining to many, fun, thrilling but professional wrestling is not a sport. When Vince McMahon himself says it's not a sport and you say it is, that's like telling Frank Perdue he doesn't package chicken, he packages pigs feet.

Vince doesn't own wrestling, he owns the WWE. You act like it's a fact that professional wrestling isn't a sport. People's opinions differ on this subject. I don't really see why it matters anyway. What difference does it really make if anyone thinks it's a sport or not?

Absolutely correct!!!
No fan, nor the organisation itself has ever called it a sport. 'Sports Entertainment' is the closest it is ever been refered to as far sports goes, making the difference quite clear.
Yes, the outcome is pre-determined, but also the participants must train, be athletic, and have a certain amount of physical prowess.
So even though I agree that it is not a sport, I still find that those people that insist on using the word 'fake', probably don't realise that a lot more physical exertion and skill is required than they think!!!
