Xbox 360 on sale November 22nd

one of my friends waited in line for like 4 hours and paid nearly $400 dollars for one of these and I'm sorry but I really just don't understand why. I'm sorry that's just a lot of money for a toy. Plus I don't have the money to buy something like that with what I make and going to school.

While I agree that I personally wouldn't pay 400 bucks for a video game unit/console, I recoil a bit when someone characterizes it as a "toy."

If you do that, you might as well also call some other things toys too:
pricey/fancy cars?
expensive clothing/pairs of shoes/accessories,
non-essential dining/entertainment expenses (doing anything for NYE this year, anyone???)
travel "for fun"/vacations
etc, etc.

The list would go on and on. Compared to many of those, $400 bucks is <i>cheap</i>. (Hell, it's probably half of what I paid last year at NYE alone....I don't even like to think about that.) IMHO, one person's "toy" is another person's hobby or even sole-source of entertainment or stress relief.

Also it should be noted that since the games will be in high def., your probably going to need a high def tv or high def converter box. I saw some decent prices on high def ready tv at:

They have nice 20-30 inch some where between 600 and 1000 dollars.

I liked the xbox, i like sony playstation, but lets face it, software drives these systems. We havent seen anything from ps3 except beautiful detailed cgi shorts.

Xbox 360 has a few games I want to get like quake 4 or gears of war or dead or alive 4. I tried to deliberately avoid getting the sytem the first week because I was worried that the few systems micro$oft did put out were faulty.

A girl that works with me and her bf pre ordered ten of them at various stores across the state....

they have taken delivery on 6 so far and are making a killing on ebay....

Now THATS a good reason to get a system...PROFIT....
