Hey folks, I have a regular XBOX version 1.

I've noticed that fewer and fewer games are being released for the system. People at work are saying "just upgrade to a 360". But I have my doubts.

What I would like to know from all of you out there is...

Is the 360 worth the money or should i just stick with what I have? (and wait til the price comes down).

That's not so strange, is it? How long did the N64 coexist with the Gamecube? Less than a year, if I remember correctly. The NES and Super NES managed to overlap for about three years--and that's the longest it's ever been. The original Xbox is now a legacy system... unfortunate, but as I was told when I visited NOA headquarters itself in 1996, new systems replace out-of-date ones. All that's left is to decide whether you want to trade up.

Honestly? 360 is the way to go. I've got a PS3 as well as a Wii. If I had to choose which was my favorite, Nintendo would get my money for being the most creative. The PS3 isn't a horrible system, it just doesn't have enough games for somebody to run out and spend 600 dollars (lucky for me I picked up a used one at my job). Now for the 360, I would say it certainly has the best games. I mean you can't go wrong with playing Gears of War. Plus all of the Halo hype is up. I myself am looking forward to some of the other games they have coming out, such as the Mass Effect, BioShock, as well Tenchu Z and a few others. Now, if you are trading in or what not, I do say it's honestly worth waiting until you can manage to find an Xbox 360 Elite. Basically 80 bucks more and you get yourself an extra 100 gigs of memory (rather than the 399.99 Pro Bundle that comes with 20 gigs.) The system itself won't go down in price for a few years, it's doing too well in sales for that to happen. Besides, a lot of the great games out there are coming down in price now. If you can manage to work it out with your budget, I'd go with getting the 360, but that's just me lol.

When I bought my 360 I was very happy with it, but the only problem I have with this is the fact that I have to wait for certain games to become backwards compatible.

Gamestop usually offers a better trade in credit if you upgrade to the 360, which is what I did. I don't have an HD TV yet, but I figured that eventually I was going to buy it so why not get it while the XBox was still worth something? The backward compatibility sucks if you have any games that were not popular. I have six games that I can't play. xbox.com has a list of compatible Xbox games.
