Yahoo is awful!-Rant

Today I learned just how really awful Yahoo can be. There is a friend of mine, who is away on business, who I've been trying to connect with, and the person sent me not one, but two, Yahoo IM's on Friday night about an hour apart, and I didnt get them until midafternoon today! Talk about lag! I have no idea why this happened, but the situation has cost me communication with this person for 2 days. I have heard of an hour lag, or receiving it the next morning. The weird thing is that I was online after the second IM was sent, and I received neither one until I got both today! This is ridiculous!
Has anyone here ever experienced a 48 hour lag with Yahoo? Honestly, it's about the longest lag I've ever heard of! Anyhow, just wanted to share this with the forum.

Hmmmm.. I thought IM meant 'instant message'.
Is Yahoo supposed to work like AIM ? (AOL's IM, which is excellent).
If so, swich to AIM. It's free, foolproof, and you don't have to be an AOL member.

I have AOL, and AIM, but this person who was trying to contact me doesnt, so they usually get me through Yahoo. AIM is actually pretty good, in my experience.

i have both yahoo and msn messenger, i prefer msn, but i havent had that problem on my yahoo, mitchell. hmmm maybe its the connection? not sure and to the other person who said aim is free, so is yahoo and msn.
