Can anyone tell me why Yahoo sucks so much? They are slow, they have many popups, their bandwidth problems are pissing everyone here off, and they really are bugging me. On top of that, I have just become a moderator to and I can't open me freakin e-mail account to check up on it. AHH.

Yeah yahoo does suck now. They used to be good! but thier new yahoo instant messenger is Good. but other then that thier just so so now. and there yahoo Groups are just spammed with porn after porn after porn messages...... its sad🙁. and here to think i was gonna join a few Yahoo Groups after awhile of not joining them. should i still or not? or are they not worth it no more?

Actually, I have no problems with Yahoo. Save for the recent server tweak that cost me 200+ members, I have no problems with Yahoo, especially the ones you discribe.

As for spam and groups ruined by it, well, I blame irresponsible moderators and owners for that. You won't see any of that shit on my group, ever. People have the tools at their disposal to deal with spam so the spam never sees the light of day, but they aren't utilizing it. So all the negative ramfications that come along with spam is all their fault. You can't so much blame the spammers. Afterall, they are being paid a commission to advertize to you. They post the messege and leave. They don't stay to read whatever it is you have to say (which is pointless and not worth your time to respond anyway). They are just like telemarketers, and just like telemarketers you have tools at your disposal to get rid of them.

I've been using Yahoo since I came to this community, and its been nearly two years, if not two years. Yahoo has been good to me, and I'm using the free service.

It probably boils down to your internet connection and it's reliability. I for one am FOR what Yahoo is doing and has done (for the most part). And with the recent upgrade, its better than it was before. As far as the member count loss, I'll eventually regain those losses provided they join again, and why wouldn't they?

Yahoo deleted 7 of my groups without notification or apparent reason, some of which had nothing to do with adult topics at all. Their customer service is zero, they don't even have a contact for group owners. I was mortally pissed off by them.

That was the reason why I opened my own tickling homepage, with lots of free linkable space and huge bandwidth, so I guess I should even be grateful to them... 🙄

Obviously not, I'm just saying I've never had problems in these two years. If I end up having some or my group is closed then I'll jump on the wagon with the rest of you. 😛

Another thing is to not put all of your eggs in one basket. For example, even if they did close my yahoo group down yeah that would be sad given I've had it for a long time and have built up a strong member/fan base, but I still have the TMF, my forum on Tickle Theater, and I have various other places where I put my art, non-tickling of course. I also have my Deviant Art page. So in retrospect, my art is still accessable by the same people that would have lost out if the group was taken down.

So even if the group was lost its of no consequence to me. The others cannot be touched. Anyone that invests everything in one locale is just asking for trouble. Not that I'm saying any of you have done that. Its just a tip.

a week or so ago, Yahoo de-activated the old e-mail account I had with them for quite some time. for what reason I do not know...of course no notification or explanation was given. the wierd thing is, I created a new one, and re-joined some of the groups I was in, and my old ID is still listed as a member. now wouldn't you think that if my account was de-activated my ID would disappear as well?

anyone have any ideas on this? I'm 😕

It could be that your account was wiped, but the archive and records of it were not. In other words, it was only wiped as far as personal use is concerned. If its still there but inaccessable then it wasn't a complete wipe or 'crackdown' on your account.

Its for reasons like yours that I question whether Yahoo is doing the deleting or there is some bug or abnormality that is affecting a percentage of the people using the network. I've been using Yahoo for 4+ years, and I've never had an account deleted or anything like that. So it would suggest to me that this is a contained, perhaps even isolated incident when it happens. On a wide-scale estimation however, the problem may be bigger than it seems, or it can be completely vice-versa.

I dunno, I do like the new 100 MB mailboxes and the fact that I can find the names of songs that I want easier by typing in pieces of the lyrics.
