Yankee Manager Joe Girardi's Job In Question..

He manages a professional sports team in New York City. His job is always in question! lol

That being said, they are six games back with well over 100 to play. They have time to turn it around

LOL Soda.

If George M Steinbrenner was still alive, and in his heyday of revolving door managers, Joe would have been gone already.

Yes, the Yankees have time to turn it around.. however.

I dont know what people expect from them. I didn't think they would be a very good team this year anyway, with the retirements of Jeter and Rivera the last two years, and Arod getting older and his declining production.

In 1985, when he was still in his heyday of revolving door managers, George M fired then manager Yogi Berra, only eighteen games into the season, and the Yankees nearly won the AL East that year with 97 wins.

It could be that if the Yankees dont have a good season, that Girardi will be let go at the end of the season.

Not to post something unrelated.. but..

The one who REALLY needs to be fired, is Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez.

The Braves are 6-19, in last in the NL East, eleven games out, after last night's loss to the NY Mets here in NY.

I'm a bit surprised that Gonzalez hasn't yet been fired, unless the Braves plan to just ride out the season with him, even if they lose 100-110 games, and fire him at the end of the season.

I would stay with Giradi. I mean who would take over Tony Pena. He didn't do that great when he was the manager of the Royals years ago

In terms of the Braves, what is Gonzalez supposed to do with that team? They do not have the players to even be contenders. The Braves had no expectations go even be a decent team, this year will have to be about small victories, and I don't think you can blame the manager much for how bad they are.

For the Yankees and Girardi, he'll have a few months at least to see if things turn around, and if they do start to turn around he should be fine, but if not he might be shown the door. Yankees fans and organization will not accept a year of losing, it's not how they are.

Secret, I honestly dont know what Gonzalez is supposed to do.

The Braves are 7-24 now, a .226 winning percentage. They are on pace to lose about 125 games.

It's not just me. There is at least one Facebook page

www.firefredi.com.

Where people call for Gonzalez to be fired.

Considering that the Braves are 1-16 at home, and 7-24 overall, and Gonzalez still hasn't been fired, my gut says they are going to stick with him all yearr, and let him go at the end of year.

The Yankees are going to have a rough time this year.

It would not surprise me to see Giaradi get fired.

I don't think the Yankees are going to be anything special again for a very long time. They don't spend the way they did in the 90s and early 2000s. They have maybe the best finishing team for pitchers in Miller and Chapman, and Betonces, but they have nothing else. They have an aged Arod that they are stuck with due to a terrible contract they agreed to over a decade ago. They have just as bad of a situation at first base with Teixeira who never lived up to his expectations and has spend the better half of the last 6 seasons on the DL. I'm amazed they have kept Brett Gardner all these years. Had this been the Yankees of 15 years ago, Gardner would've been gone before he was 30 years old.

They don't spend as crazily as they did under George.
