Yankees Re-Sign Derek Jeter, 1 Year,$12 Million

Derek Jeter was re signed today to a 1 year, $12 million dollar deal by the Yankees.

This is good, because he can still hopefully be productive, and end his career on his own terms. The only reason its bad is that now he and Mariano Rivera can t go in the Hall together in
2019. Jeter will have to wait until 2020 if he does retire next year.

Jeter has earned enough respect to get this. Hopefully he can have at least a decent season next year, even though he will turn 40.

Good for him I think Yankees can make a deep run at the postseason next year but as wild card not as division winner.

With much respect to Derek, and his stellar career, GOOD FOR HIM!!! Don't really care what the "Evil Empire" does as a team, but I say...CONGRATS to a class act!!! Too bad he can't enter the HOF at the same time as Mariano, but he'll be a 1st ballot choice, as soon as he qualifies!!! And hopefully he puts up some good numbers as a 40 something..just like Mariano..Nolan Ryan..Tony Gwynn or Cal Ripken!!! Not sure if Tony and Cal made it to 40, while still active..but they were close!!! Anyway...best of luck to Derek..just hope he stays healthy!!!
