I wouldn't say its brainwashing anyone. But whether it's going for adults or children, it's gonna get everyone.

Those who don't need the items generally never will; those who do, do. That's how she blows.
 
Ve haf ways to make you keep up with da Jones!!!

Coke(the beverage and not the powder) is recognized world over. McDonalds' golden arches(sadly not ticklish) are recognized by children 2+ and up. A PBS special on the history of childrens shows detailed how they became simply more and more commercial driven. And the kids "had" to buy a so and so because Ms. whoever on TV said so. A lady whose name escapes me got legislation passed to stop the worst of it. But Saturday morning cartoons seem like one commercial show after another. We are all bombarded by ads all day long. The theaters used to use the subliminal ads to boost popcorn/soft drink sales. How many ads are on each screen here at TMF?

I'm thinking fourteen or over... But, I'm already looking at porn I have purchased...
 
Advertising is garish, tacky, and omnipresent, but it's a natural - and necessary - element of a capitalist consumer society, unfortunately.
