Just got done watching ALIEN and it got me thinking...What is your scariest movie moment? I think for my money that nothing can beat the scene from ALIEN where Tom Skerritt is in the air shaft and the creature is there with him...great stuff. I've never met a person who didn't jump the first time they saw that part.

Oh please. Alien? Please. If Alien scared you, I'm curious as to what Nightmare on Elm Street/Hellraiser would do. How about Exorcist? Back in "the day" Exorcist scared the living crap out of full-grown adults.

I saw the Exorcist (w/subtitles 😉 ) when I was about 10, and it scared the bejeezus out of me 🙂

If you liked ALIEN, then you will like ALIENS better. More exciting and suspenseful.

Now if you want a truly scary, thought provoking movie try "Colossus - The Forbin Project". It's an older movie and may be hard to find. Basically it about two computers that take over the world. Watch it and think how much computers are a part of our lives, then try to get a good night's sleep.

None really. I mean sure i have jumped here and there while watching a horror movie a few times. But nothing real so scary that i had to sleep with the lights on....

Scariest moment...or at least the one part I can remember really making me jump, was that scene in the Excorcist where she does that trippy backwards stair-walking thing.....it still gives me a chill sometimes...

I wanna see the movie Saw and Hente Tension! my friend Greg saw Saw in theaters like three times when it first came out during halloween time! he said that movie was that good 🙂

But Hente Tension is not coming out to theaters until 2005. So i should proble just buy it online somewhere like ebay (it's a french horror movie)

ahh..now here is a thread I can sink my proverbial teeth into..heh heh heh
I grew up on horror movies...love em.

Scariest moments or moments that got to me the first time i saw them:

>the evil clown doll attacking the little boy in Poltergiest

>the Tall Man's reflection in Michael's mirror at the end of Phantasm

>the whole movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

>when they find Damien's mother's grave has Jackyl bones in it in The Omen
>the scene in Nightmare on Elm Steet when Freddy suddenly attacks Nancy after she pulls him out of her dream

hmm..The Exorcist never bothered me all that much...not that religious I guess.

THE DIVIL'S ADVOCATE-Watching KEANU REEVES attempting a "dramatic" role, made me sick, and ensured that I couldn't sleep for weeks. 😀 😀 😀

Ok...time to qualify my remarks...I *re*-watched Alien yesterday. The first time I saw it was when I was 8. I saw Aliens in the theater and it was cool but not very scary. As for Hellraiser, there are no good scare moments in it...its just got lots of Karo syrup mixed with cherry kool aid (movie blood) liberally tossed with some K-Y jelly. Exorcist was only scary if yer a religious type which I'm not, and besides, if you really want the best that story has to offer, the book will offer lots more than the movie. I agree that the first Nightmare on Elm Street was a good movie but it didn't have many scare moments. I'm talking about specific scenes where the tension builds up and then you get the final "oh shit" pay off.
