Since I was a little kid I've always wanted to draw a predator, but my skills just weren't good enough. I've always liked the predators and the series itself, including the movies. And with the recent release of AVP, I just couldn't resist this unfilled childhood urge!

But now I can. I drew this from little more than a scanned still from the movie and the rest was pure memory of how the predators look.

No need for talk, I'm too excited. 😀

I've named this one with the fimilar line made popular by Arnold himself-

" You're one ugly motherf*cker!"

@ kane- Thanks alot! 🙂 I think adding the red hue really made a difference. Not only because predators naturally see completely red without their masks, but it adds ferocity to the picture and coincidentally brought out the details better. 🙂

@ Master Cartman- Well, he is beckoning the person he challenged closer, but he's not winking at anybody. One eye is just set back into his skill more than the other. I intentionally did that as because when I was looking at the still scan, one eye was clearly visible and the other was not. So I just decided to not give his right eye a pupil, so it might give him a veteran-lost my eye sort of look. Thanks again. 🙂

probably my fav weapon is the kamikazee nuke, 1 of my most favorite movie moments in history. seeing the count down, hearing the evil laughter, busting your chops trying to run. soooo cool. pred's demand some serious respect. John Mctiernan is god among directing action movies! hehe. did you watch the dvd extras? they ordered the predator red suit from a studio, to find it was ridiculous and comical. untilthey went to stan winston, top of his game, to help with the whole new look for the pred. you gotta check it out. whoever designed i tfirst should get smacked.

Yeah. I saw the new collector's edition dvd release of the original predator in full screen with all the extras that weren't in the original widescreen one. I was going to buy it when I was at the store, but I was in a hurry and had to leave. I still want to get my hands on Predator 2 though. That one seems to be harder to find than the original and I don't know if they've made that in full screen yet or not.

yeah, it was crazy, the suit the studio supplied had a long head that looked just like a praying mantis, and claws like a mole. if i would've seen it in real life, i woulda laghed than screamed. reminded me of those crappy monster movie suits from the 40's-50's.

Wow, that's really good. ^^x I just finished watching Predator too, actually.. I've always liked them too, and I used to collect all sorts of AvP stuff, before they even talked about making a movie. The most memorable thing in my opinion was the AvP Collectable Card Game. Lots of fun -- never quite found another game like it.

Lots of people are saying that the AvP movie is just a copy of Freddy vs Jason, and the idea is completly unoriginal and stupid. What they don't seem to realize is the concept of AvP has existed for 10 years, at least! *Throws the novels at those people.*

Battousai: not only books, action figures, card games... but i saw a comic once which i really should've bought, which featured: Aliens vs. Predator vs. The Terminator. lol, now that's a crazy lineup for mayhem.what got me hooked was Alien vs. Predator the game for PC, it's totally addicting, and was famously noted for being the scariest game around until Doom 3. and the game is accurate from the movies, and very fun.
So when critics start whining, just: Stick your middle finger up slowly, put it close to their face so they can examine it closely.

those John Mctiernan flicks always had those great popular 1 liners like:

LOL, its funny how the Predators retain and remember the things they hear and actually figure out in what instances they would use the phrases or words they've learned. 😀

dang, u gotta love 1 liners. i totally forgot about that part in the movie. i gotta buy the dvd, tommorrow i think, going to a massive local bookstore, selling stacks of old books and magazines for store credit to buy predator 1 & 2. also gonna buy maybe 2 AVP novels to see if there any good.

so true about retaining phrases, especially the evil laughter right before big boom in part 1, so freaking sweet.

ya, that die hard line made me crack up too, only saw it twice uncut, other times were DVD on TV, so it was: "Yippy KY Yay Mister!"

people don't understand how much it affects the movie when u remove curse words. people don't understand cursing in movies makes it mean more, adds an extra oomph to the phrase, and in certain situations, can be comical.

gonna try to find that Alien vs. Predator vs. Terminator comic tomorrow so wish me luck, i'll post some pages of it if i can.

dang, ever since i was forced to sell my truck, i gotta hitch a ride with a friend, so looks like the field trip is post poned till thursday.

but, i was surfing kazaa, and came across an ameteur video of Batman vs. Alien vs. Predator, lol. they guys were well funded and with almost authentic looking aliens and preds suits, even if the batman suit was circa 1950's hehe. it's kinda funny and interesting, even though there are so many things wrong with it.

i can't post it, it's 25 mb, but i'm trying a few things to see if i can, if you want to see it tell me and i'll try to. also, some suggestions on how to post it or something will be very helpful.
