YOUTUBE Question

A member here suggested the site vixy.net for downloading and converting files from youtube. It's quite userfriendly and I like the layout, but I'm finding that it only works 1 time in 10. It just seems really glitchy.

Can anyone shed light on this? Is there another site that's just as userfriendly while being more reliable?

Any replies appreciated.

Userfriendly? Not so much. Nor can I offer one that has integrated conversion tools. I do know of a site that enables the downloading of the Youtube .FLV files that has been working consistently for months, namely http://max.subfighter.com/flv/downloader.php Note that it, like most such sites, will NOT work on videos that have been marked as "Mature" and require one to either be logged in at YT with an account marked as over 18 or to say they are 18 before viewing the video.

The site I mentioned is quite userfriendly in its design. You simply enter the address of the video you want, choose the format you'd like it converted to, and the process begins. It's a wonderful site in that regard. Unfortunately, it rarely works. 🙂 More often than not, it gives an error message or churns for several minutes without producing anything.

If anyone knows of other viable sites that perform the file conversion process, please let me know. I'm still searching.

I'm with you on this one. Vixy has worked once in about 30 attempts for me, so I'll try this VDownloader as well.

Welcome. Only thing is, it isn't perfect, as it won't download videos from MySpace, and DailyMotion videos usually don't work either. But for YouTube, it works really well. I haven't really found anything that has worked for well for DailyMotion or MySpace, so I consider VDownloader the best out there, especially since it can convert flash files to mpeg an wmv formats.

I downloaded Real player recently, it comes with a built in video recording program. If I watch any video online, a "download this video" tab pops up.

Works reasonably well.
