It seems pretty common that most women openly express their preference for men who are taller than they are. Being a woman who is nearly 6'2 this not only would narrow potential partners but it's also undesirable. I like short men and I always have. My husband of 24 years is barely 5'8 and he is one of the taller guys I have been with.
I was tall from an early age and during my school days it was impossible to meet any boys my height or taller. Maybe it was just a preference I developed during my formative years, maybe it's just a coincidence or perhaps I have just long ignored the social norms that seem arbitrarily binding. Whatever the reason, I adore men who are short. My college boyfriend was all of 5'4 and while I am sure we made an odd looking couple he was wonderful. Social norms be damned, short men are beautiful.
