While I love using rope and other equipment for more freeform bondage, I also appreciate quick and simple solutions when time is limited or when bondage is just a means to an end rather than a main focus of an experience. I decided to make some straps that can be easily attached to a variety of anchor points, or simply wrapped around the legs or posts of a bed and linked to cuffs. I made these heavy-duty adjustable straps from thick weave black nylon webbing. To each strap, I added a high-strength stainless steel triglide for easy length adjustment, and a welded stainless steel D-ring on each end. I hand sewed the webbing to that hardware with large bar tack patterns using very strong #277 bonded nylon thread. I can’t say I got the stitching and alignment as good as I wanted, but overall, I’m pleased with the result. I was initially worried about the potential for the triglides being too loose and slipping under dynamic forces, but if anything, they’re a little tight. They still adjust quickly, but they do require a more intentional technique to adjust them even when the strap is fully slack. I’ve decided I prefer it that way, as once they’re adjusted to the desired length, they won’t budge without deliberate action. I won’t be using them for suspension work, but I’ve estimated each strap has a minimum breaking load of 2,200 lbs, and if I wrap them around a post or something similar (thereby attaching both D-rings to a single cuff), it’s probably closer to 4,000 lbs. So, not only are they quick and easy, but whoever is secured by them is not breaking out, no matter how ticklish they are!
