Not only did many retailers decide to rob their employees of precious time to spend with their family on Thanksgiving; they selfishly put society in harms way just to increase revenues.
It takes police extra manpower just to try to keep order at each of the stores that decide to take part in this annual ritual. This more than likely raises response times to real emergencies. Another issue with safety is safety hazards.
I'm sure it's perfectly normal to fill a store to a capacity of standing room only with displays littering the aisles. Heaven forbid if a fire breaks out at a store and people trip and get trampled to death by their fellow peers.
All this to save a few bucks on a bunch of crap that's going to devalue in less than 6 months anyways.
Whoever made up this "Black Friday" concept should be raped, decapitated, and raped again in that order.
Looks like the occupy movement has had little impact on the black and blue Friday fueled by consumerism.
