Dynamic Duos

I'm feeling particularly geeky today and...I've just realized that it appears that all of my favorite duos are very similar to one another. O.O Nearly every pairing that I'm a fan of features one person who's the dark-haired, level-headed, badass hero and the other is usually fair-haired, cute, and innocent. I mean WTF. I'm seeing a pattern here. O___o

Sonic and Tails (Sonic the Hedgehog):

Xena and Gabrielle (Xena: Warrior Princess):





Brian Kinney and Justin Taylor (Queer As Folk):




Jason and deMarco (gay Christian musical duo):




Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings):




Yuto Nakajima and Ryosuke Yamada (Hey!Say!JUMP):




Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa (TegoMass):



Huh...ya know, I did come upon this article once that compared the Xena & Gabrielle pairing to the Brian & Justin pairing from Queer As Folk. Here's the picture that went with it:

And the article really touched me because it said something like the characters of Xena, Gabrielle, Brian, and Justin have always existed, just in different forms. Because they tell the familiar story of light and dark, yin and yang, fire and water. So, in a way, these characters have always existed, just in different forms as shown in the pairings I listed above (some familiar to you and some not). And some of the ones above aren't even made-up characters, but real people. Jason and deMarco, Yuto and Yamada, and TegoMass are all part of different musical groups...yet they're all so very similar to each other. And I guess that's why all the above pairs appeal to me. Because they're essentially the same people and characters, but wearing different skins. If that makes any sense that is. :/

Anyway, I think I'm done geeking out for the day. Time for me to go watch some Queer As Folk! ^__^
