Seeking love of any kind within this wild world is a quest for water in the great desert, wherein scorpions dwell, mirages abound, and hope seems to slip through your grip like fine grains of sand. In that hellscape of tortured lovers’ souls, it’s hard to discern whether you’re close to the fabled spring of life, or you’re lost, forever to wander the valley of death and despair. Along the pathless journey, the persistent question haunts your focus: Does real love ever call, or will there only ever be the sirens’ song of tempting lies? I’ve traveled that unforgiving wasteland full of the dusty bones of the unfortunate fallen, suffering its scathing trials and relentless scourge. I’ve coveted the spring, thirsted for its waters, and sought it to the edges of my faith. In spite of all odds, whether through my own raw determination, some divine intervention, or perhaps just sweet serendipity, my journey came to a radiant end the moment I was first graced with your warm and inviting presence. As is written upon the fabric of all reality, love will always come with its costs and challenges, and while mine to find love were great, my only ongoing battle is remaining assured of my worthiness to share forever with you.
