Eariler today, I had someone contact me over one of my many IM services. He added himself to my list and I asked what exactly he was interested in. He tells me he's from the tickling community. Fine. This shite has happened before.
I ask his screen name. No names, but this person was booted from TickleTheater ages ago for starting arguments, internet stalking and other random acts of douchenozzleitude. Against my better judgement, I roll my eyes and keep talking to him.
He asks a favour of me. He tells me the he is "The most ticklish person in Canada". He claims being so ticklish is ruining his life and he needs my help to cure him. He believes that attending a tickling gathering will give him the opportunity to get all his ticklishness out of him so that he can lead a normal, healthy life. He insists that I help him in this matter.
I replied, "Not interested, thank you." and added him to my ignore list.
First off, acting desperate for play to the person who organizes these things is not a great way to engraciate yourself into the gathering community. It doesn't demonstrate social virtue and leads one to question yoru stability in a situation such as a gathering.
Second, abject desperation is not now, nor has it ever been, a workable pick-up line. Even if you were allowed into the gathering, acting in such a way would not get anyone to tickle you. Further desperation, such as the conversation I had today, would more than likely be seen as harassment and get you barred from said gathering.
Third, and I cannot stress this enough, if you're ticklish to the point where it is affecting your life, the help you're looking for should be coming from a licensed medical or psychiatric professional. Such help has never been offered at a tickling gathering to my knowledge, nor will it ever be.
I think what bothers me most about this is that this is the shite I'm getting hit with. I cannot imagine the kinds of messages the cute little 20-something girls get hit with on this site. And I know that they get these messages. I know it so well that I actively avoid talking to the new girls on this site because I don't want to add to the nonsense that they have to put up with.
I guess I'm just mad that the socially inept on this site allow their fetish to control their lives. On their behalf, I apologize to the girls for all the messages, like the ones above that you receive. And to those who send them, for your sake, not as a personal threat, never come to a gathering.
