Text from my little sister:
"Thanks for everything. I know it's hard on you, too."
My response:
"No one wants to help you out and the adults in your life are horrible human beings. I'm not going to do that to you. I'm going to be the adult in your life you can look up to and trust to be there no matter what."
Words cannot describe the bond I have with them. I would probably kick an old woman off a roof for them. Sometimes, I feel like we're fellow soldiers in battle, other times I feel they're angels.
I'm going to start celebrating this day a little differently from now on. Give me a reason to keep from brooding in my room all day.
