Have you really thought about tickling lately? How a simple touch can invoke a reaction of your body to protect itself.
That's all science one can find with a simple search on Google and other platforms. What fascinates me about tickling is the reaction someone gives and how it's unique to every person. Two main questions arise with me
1. Why are some people more ticklish than others? If it's a genetic survival strategy, then why are not all people ticklish?
2. Is it possible to alter your sensitivity to touch?
Of course skin care and hypnosis can do so much, but can you alter the way your brain reacts to tickling on a fundamental level?
For me as a tickler mostly, I'm not usually the one on the recieving end of the tickles, but still I'm very interested in how to alter this sensitivity. Also mainly because I want to know because I kind of like the sensation and want to improve where I can.
Perhaps it's just a question that a deep dive on the internet can solve, but I'm curious about what seasoned ticklers and ticklees think about the matter.
For so far I can tell is that I'm moderately ticklish and the ticklees that I had the pleasure of meeting, were laughing their socks off (pun intended).
