The school sent me a notification email basically I am going to lose my financial aid, on the grounds that I did not meet the minimum amount of credits/the minimum g.p.a for the semester. I missed a week and 1/2 in October due to John's passing, and worked myself half to death trying to catch up in all of my classes. I succeeded in most of my courses, except one. It bummed me out to fail the course and get my first F in college.
As a result, I only got ten credits and my g.p.a. was below the minimum, which disappointed me anyways, because my g.p.a is normally above 2.0. On the other hand, I can petition the school for a shot to keep my aid, while citing a valid reason (such as bereavement). The annoying part is I have to type a statement to submit, along with the form, and an item(s) to validate my story. I am not sure what they would accept so I am going to give them a copy of the funeral handout and of my plane ticket/itinerary. I hope it will suffice and that my petition is approved.
