So I am sitting down at my computer after a full day of recuperation and finally have the time and energy to make a long, descriptive post about NEST. Since this was my very first NEST I really didn't know what to expect but I did have a certain level of expectations obviously. I hoped to make friendships that would last beyond that four day weekend and actually have someone to look forward to seeing about this time next year.
I left last Thursday morning around six to catch my train at 8:30. As I sat in the very small train station with my bags and looked around at the various groups of people it made me wonder where were THEY going? I just blended in with the crowd. Little did they know I was headed off for a weekend filled with tickle fun 😉!
When everyone stood up to finally head towards the platform I was trembling as I struggled to hold my bags. As the train pulled around the distant corner, rang its bells to announce its arrival, I realized that this was really going to happen. I was going to board that train and not look back. I WAS going to NEST and it was too late to turn back.
I tried to act nonchalant on the train, but as the five hours dwindled down I could feel my nerves heightening and I was very nervous. You make good friends with people over the TMF, talk via Skype, Yahoo, AIM, chatroom, PM's, whatever, but to actually put a face to a screen name is a new sensation.
After some confusion at the 30th Street Station, I finally was able to find Chaneda and ride together to NEST. I was so relieved to see him and actually having him to walk into the event with made things a little easier.
Once we pulled up to the hotel he told me that sometimes there are NEST people outside smoking and he kept teasing me by saying he recognized certain people. He did this to get a reaction out of me because I was so nervous to meet everyone, and every time he was like "Is that so and so?" I would jerk in my seat and look around O_O!!! looking for them, hah.
Walking into the lobby I sat down with our luggage while he checked us in and looking around I did notice various people sitting on couches, conversing. I wondered how many of them were actual NESTees? Everything seemed so calm, but I knew eventually I would come face to face with real NEST people 😀.
Chaneda and I had to wait for a while to get into our room since it wasn't ready yet. All of a sudden I hear someone say "Hello Purse-a-phone" and lo and behold the first NEST person I ever met was Kered
After that things seemed to get a bit easier, though I was trembling like crazy the first hour, wanting to make a good impression! After checking into our room and unpacking, we went back down to socialize because I knew lots of people were arriving Thursday afternoon. As we stood in the lobby I was able to look outside and notice someone who I thought I recognized. Pictures can be deceiving, because sometimes people don't even really resemble what they look like in pictures.
However I WAS right and the person I recognized was Avenger314, hah! After warm greetings, a bit more socializing, we decided to head over to Ruby Tuesday's for a late lunch, because obviously people are starving after a long trip! Lunch was a nice icebreaker and Thursday night was extremely fun. After meeting a lot of Thursday arrivals, we played volleyball in the pool and for some reason, even though he switched sides, RobAce was on the losing team each time, haha 🙂. And being ambushed by both Chaneda and Avenger314 was sooo evil, but fun nevertheless!!! Laughter is the best medicine 😀
Later that night we crammed into the car and went to get Fourth Meal at Taco Bell but they turned the light off on us even though it was 11:10 PM and they closed at Midnight! Jerks.
Nevertheless we had delicious Wendy's. Their chicken nuggets and frostees can make everything better.
Thursday night RobAce allowed Chaneda and me to borrow his stocks, which are more fabulous in person than the pictures he took for the forum. They are quite comfortable and immobile once you are stuck in them. For a few minutes RobAce and Chaneda both went at it on my feet and it drove me nuts @_@ but it showed how efficiently the stocks worked 🙂.
The next morning after a delicious hotel breakfast, it was decided that a bit of sightseeing was in our destiny. Despite AylaJane15's spastic GPS (haha, Mabel worked in the end 😀) we made our way to Independence Hall to do the touristy thing until later that afternoon when check-in was. We walked around Old Town Philly and saw the Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, and Independence Hall. The inside is really beautiful and the architecture (which I LOVE) was so lovely 🙂. I felt like I was right in National Treasure and I will never forget the look on Avenger314's face when the guide told us "That is the ACTUAL chair that George Washington sat on." hahaha
After doing the touristy thing we headed back to the hotel for check in. Once everyone was branded with a name tag it was MUCH easier to tell them apart, and see who was who. The first official night of the NEST weekend, Friday, there was an icebreaker event with food, board games, and music. After two hours of playing Apples to Apples and eating as many cookies as possible I felt totally at ease with everyone I met and was just enjoying myself!
Finally Saturday rolled around and with it came Newbie orientation. The meeting was fantastic, Bella is the greatest
and the meeting wasn't complete with Amnesiac dressing up as Captain Kirk and imitating William Shatner. The various classes that were offered were fantastic! I managed to go to the bondage class offered by Libertine and KittenToes and the bondage class offered by a friend of LeeAllure's. The bondage classes were great because I knew nothing about rope bondage at all and to learn how to safely and efficiently bind with rope was great. It made sense that the knots you create are supposed to take the strain and not the actual rope wound around your wrists, therefore cutting off circulation.
Saturday night was great with more time spent in the pool, going to RobAce's show (well I managed to get to the verrrry end of it) and hanging down in the lobby with all the fantastic people.
At last Sunday arrived, the day of the main event! Despite the mishap with the large ballroom being double booked, LeeAllure took it with grace and stride and all the bondage equipment was dissembled and marching in a line it was all moved to two separate venues. One of the first pieces of equipment I wanted to try was the X-frame that wasn't as scary as it looked, hah 🙂. And the funny thing is at the time barely anyone was in the room but as I became further and further bound, more and more people appeared, surrounding me and watching the rope work and hearing Libertine's advice on how to tie the rope correctly. They obviously politely asked if I minded if they tickled me and of course I didn't
Being bound on the X-frame is a helpless experience but my feet were not easily accessible so a majority of the tickling was upperbody and fantastic!
Throughout the party I was bound in various positions and to different pieces of equipment. I had a really intense session tied spread eagle to the massage table. I don't know who exactly was tickling my feet and upper body but there were lots of fingers and I was losing control
but of course I loved it 😉
The inversion table was great and that is where Alchemy drove me nuts with his Freddy glove with electric toothbrushes on it! Later that afternoon I was bound on my back with my feet up in the air, and then rolled over to my belly and bound hogtied with my feet tied to a support system so I didn't roll away. The hogtie position was a really intense session with Chaneda at my feet, Avenger314 poking me time to time, and Amnesiac using his EVIL sonicare on my neck, which I didn't know was THAT sensitive. I have never laughed so hard in my life @_@.
Monday finally brought a sad close to the end of a fabulous weekend. Sunday night had been filled with relaxing, hanging with NEST friends and playing trivia in the lobby 🙂. After a few tearful goodbyes on Monday I headed back to catch my train to return to reality in my hometown.
Despite my raw throat (from all the laughing), my scratchy voice (from all the laughing 😉), and my sore body from the bondage positions, NEST was worth it. So SO SO worth it. It far exceeded any expectations I ever had and more. It was "to infinity and beyond" 😉 haha. I will totally be going back next year and cannot wait! On the train ride home yesterday I just relaxed in my seat, watching the scenery go by and replaying the whole events in my head. It was worth overcoming my fear and anxiety to just take the plunge and attend NEST. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made and one of the best weekends of my life.
It's fabulous to feel completely at ease about my fetish. Something I try so hard to keep in shadows and secret in real life, seemed like it was nothing when being around fellow ticklephiles. I felt completely welcome and got nothing but warm greetings and kindness. NEST was great and now that I am officially popped of my NEST cherry I can say that anyone who ever even fathoms attending should go!
In my next blog I will make a list of all the great people I met and how they all have touched my life 🙂. I really feel part of the NEST family and it's a nice change and I have never been happier to be myself with my unique fetish for tickling <3~
