I have a few causes that I believe in and that I try to contribute to. Breast Cancer Awareness is one of them.
My maternal grandmother passed away from breast cancer nine years before I was born. So I never had a chance to know her.
Growing up, I had two grandfathers and only one grandmother. So from the time I could question why I didn't have two grandmothers like I had two grandfathers, I asked my mother about her.
My mom was only 13 when her mom passed away. An age where teen girls need their mothers the most. Through my mom, I learned about the grandmother I never knew, and I am forever grateful and blessed to have my mom as my mom. She's a gentle woman who loves her family and is someone I can always talk to. 😀
When I learned her mother passed away from breast cancer in 1977, something clicked in me. I wanted to do whatever I could to spread awareness about breast cancer and breast cancer research. With certain products, like Yoplait yogurt, allow you to send in covers or whatever and they'll donate so much to breast cancer research. I use my signature on here, my Facebook, with posts to promote October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
