Hi All,
I really liked my trip to the 2010 NEST. I met some good people there, & I hope to make it back next year!
I apologize for being absent pretty much since then. I don't spend a lot of time at home, & this summer I used it pretty much only to sleep, since I was playing chess & ultimate frisbee often.
I'll try to be on more often between the football season & the next NEST.
Kevin
P.S. Here's my facebook football picks copied:
We have less than 24 hours before the 2010-2011 NFL Season, so it's time to make the master predictions.
Chances of our football team, the Giants, making the playoffs, I'd say 60%. Doing anything more than show up? I'd say 20% unless they draw the star helmets in the first round.
In Order
Division Winners AFC: Jets, Texans, Bengals, Raiders.
Wild Cards AFC: Ravens, Dolphins.
Division Winners NFC: Packers, Cowboys, Falcons, 49ers
Wild Cards NFC: Saints, Giants
Drop the Bengals, Raiders, Giants, & 49ers in Wild Card Weekend.
Drop the Jets, Ravens, Saints, & Cowboys in the Divisional Round.
Drop the Dolphins & the Falcons in the Conference Championships.
& the Vince Lombardi trophy would return to the frozen tundra, home of the Packers.
I sincerely believe that the Chargers, the Patriots, & the Colts will all miss the playoffs. At least one of them has to miss at some point, & the Colts are a superbowl loser, so that helps.
I sincerely believe that Brett Favre, the worst great player of all time, will end at least his fourth consecutive season...with another backbreaking pick. (You know, the one that helps his team lose.)
I sincerely believe that the clock will strike Midnight on the Cowboys in another early (for them) playoff exit. Of course, it's never too early for the Cowboys to exit the playoffs.
And that Drew Brees will finally break the Madden curse by staying on as an elite quarterback with nothing freaky or stupid happening to him.
I like this stat from ESPN.com's Tuesday Morning Quarterback: If you're from the opposite conference, fear quarterbacks named Manning. Eli enters the season on a 12-4 streak versus the AFC, and Peyton enters on a 14-4 streak versus the NFC.
