When I turned 40.
I was bitching and complaining about turning 40/
Then, six weeks later my beloved mother was diagnosed with lung cancer.
I was with her every step of the way in a twenty five month battle. Commencing with her passing on April 4, 2012.
Simply put, the 2010s were horrible for me.
The loss of my mother, two seizures from which I nearly died. Other bad things that really dont seem important right now.
I turned 50, hoping a new decade would bring new and positive hope.
Once again, two quiet months, nothing much happened. Just like in 2010 when Jan and Feb were quiet before my mom's lung cancer diagnosis in March 2010.
Now.. this.
I realize of course that this is not only me.
Jim Gardner talked about people not practicing "Social Distancing" on his 11pm newscast on Friday night.
He showed newsclips of people playing basketball games on courts in Philly.
From what I've seen.
The main street in my town is deserted. '
Yet on the roadway, there were people walking, and jogging. Exercise is supposedly allowed.
At the pharmacy there is a long line, with only two people being allowed in at a time.
At the supermarket on Friday, there were some people on line.
It seemed like they were trying to keep their distance.
From what I see, it seems like people are trying to adhere to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo's stay at home order.
We will see if it turns out to be enough to stem the explosion of this horrible disease.
