I found out some very sad news today.
Ray, my assistant for 12 years when I lived in Lancaster, passed away yesterday.
While I know I complained about Ray in post vents on here, for which I now regret.
Ray was extremely loyal to my mom and me for 12 years. He used to drive us 300 miles round trip every week, to take my mom to the special cancer Dr she wanted to go to . Ray was with me on the morning my mom passed away, as he picked me up from the home she was in after her passing, took me to my apartment, and then took me out so I could clear my head. Ray was with me right up until the day I left Lancaster in June 2012.
I have been in touch with Ray's wife, Gale, almost every week, via e-mail, since I left Lancaster. Gale told me today that Ray passed away.
I have very good memories with Ray, and I appreciated how he helped my mom and me for so many years.
Most important, Ray was a wonderful husband for 60 years, and a wonderful father and grandfather.
I know that his family is heartbroken about his passing.
I'm very saddened, and very shaken.
Rest In Peace, Ray. You were a very good man, in so many ways.
