I guess I can post this.
It's about the seizures, so it is not anything. "Controversial"
I saw my neurologist last week after the latest blackout.
My neurologist said.
"Mitch, there's really nothing else I can do for you with medication. I'd like to cut your medication back"
I have to respect that.
I have to go see my regular Dr a week from Tuesday.
The major thing that has happened since the big seizure in August, is that I'm trying to stay a lot more.. calm.
My stuttering is a rollercoaster. There are times I cannot get a word out edgewise, and others I can talk for hours and not stutter once.
Both of my Doctors have told me that they are concerned that my next seizure could kill me.
I don;t walk around looking over my shoulder, but it does cross my mind.
A certain member of my family, who thinks they know it all (Not my Dad). Says.
"Oh, you're only 48 , you're fine"
Er.. yeah, but. I've already had several seizures that have hospitalized me, and almost killed me.
I hope that the fact that I have not had an actual major seizure in three months means that maybe things are getting. "Better".
All I can do, is to take my meds, and hope.
My thanks to all of my friends on the forum, who have been so supportive to me while I've been dealing with this medical condition.
