Have you thanked a veteran today?
My daughter and I were in Applebee's today when a man came in with his cap and, I kid you not, a vest that had so many medals on it, you couldn't see the vest!! The gentleman happened to be a World War II vet. After our meal, we stopped by a few other tables and thanked all of the vets that we saw, but something about shaking this man's hand was awe inspiring. I think it is because there aren't too many World War II vets left.
While I have respect for all veterans, it made my day that I was able to shake the hand of a member of the greatest generation.
