Yeah, Mac n Cheese and lettuce can get a bit old after a while, for sure!

Though I haven't tried soy ice cream, the soy milk we use in my cafe is definitely my medium of choice when it comes to espresso drinks. Add some chai and maybe some vanilla and you're good to go.

I totally wanna get bagels now. My buddy's old apartment was right next to a bagel shop, so back in the day she and I would hit that place up right when it opened coz we'd already be up from drinking all night. Sun-dried tomato with vegetable cream cheese, that is totally where its at.

I have a really weird top 4: The Minutemen, Midnight Oil, Sleater-Kinney and the Slackers. I'm one of those people who cares less about genre than about how good of songwriters the band members are. And, I LOVE it when a band has multiple front men, or different personalities on display in the band.

We are in agreement on the asskick-ery of accordions.

I play bass with a couple of my friends, and the music ranges from punk rock to abstract psychadelia. One of those bands has rented a storage garage to play in -- its awesome, we can practice at like, 3 in the morning and not bother anyone.

I can only play, like, five songs that I myself have written and sing them at the same time. Lincoln has a shit ton of open-mic nights, and each one of has a shit ton of local bards showing their craft. 'Tis sweeetness.

Any particular type of music you enjoy or fav bands? When ya mention accordion, I immediately think of either the Decemberists, or celtic-punk like Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys.

'Nebraska' I believe was originally a native word ("Ne-brath-ka" ...I forget which language) which means 'land of flat waters.'

I live in Lincoln, which has a total little brother complex going on with Omaha, always trying to live up to it. The Omaha music scene is pretty solid (ever heard of the Faint? Those guys kickass), but the Lincoln scene always seemed un-unified (is that a word ... ?), or at least disorganized.

Either way though, me and alotta my buddies play in bands, and it's always cool to see what music your friends can come up with.

What about you? Are you musical in any way?

I suppose that places me in 'SENE' or southeast Nebraska, which I believe is (and totally HAS to be) far less exciting and far less exotic than NEPA! How're things up there? D'ya got a pretty hip hometown or are things boring in northeast Penn?
