Well, after reading the pokemon poetry in the non-tickling story section I began to wonder how many people here play pokemon. So these are my questions:
Do you play or have played pokemon?
If so, what was the last game in the series you played?
Also, if you want to provide this, which pokemon is your favorite?

Obviously, yes I do play pokemon. :ggrin:

The last game in the series that I played was Pokemon Diamond about ten minuets ago. ^_^

And my favorite pokemon is Gardevoir

I look foreward to your responses.

I own and have played Yellow Pikachu edition and Leaf Green. I never was a very big fan of it though. My girl friend has just about every game and is addicted. I'm playing Dragon Quest Monster Joker right now, which is a similar type of game, but I like it a lot better.

ive played blue, yellow, and im mostly playing leaf green now (usually when im laying in bed to fall asleep) teh fav. has to be Starmie...

i played pong when i was young....does that count? :ggrin:

Only to date you, m'dear! Me too, alas...

I haven't played any of the Pokemon series past Gold/Silver; video games were never a huge part of my life, and I have very little time for them at all these days. However, I enjoyed those Pokemon games that I did play, reveling in their RPG, exploration and collecting aspects. The games' bifurcated design, along with the near-impossibility of capturing all the legendary creature types in one pass, were strokes of genius inspiration; the solitary nature of such gameplay became de rigueur group activity for anyone hoping to complete their Pokedex! It was, of course, marketing genius too: Nintendo sold twice the number of what was fundamentally the same game.

The choice of tamable wildlife was an embarrassment of riches, and deciding on favorite champions was never easy. I gravitated toward fire types; my starter Pokemon for the Red game was Charmander, and I stuck with him pretty doggedly through to completion. Backups, however, came and went at whim: the Dragonite line were good all-around fighters, and I was quick to develop my Dratini to full capacity. I'd also select purely for cute (I owned an Eevee, which I advanced clear to 99 without ever evolving) and for whimsy (Psyduck, Likitung, and Sudowoodo were great favorites, however useless they were as fighters). Imaginatively whimsical species became the series' hallmark, in fact; with nearly 500 variants to concoct, it stuns me that the designs never became more outlandish than they did!

Hmmm. I wondered how that game was. I'm gonna have to try it, thanks.:ggrin:

Awesome. ^_^
Starmie is still a good choice for battle, even over wifi.

*puts a check by your name on the list of people who have played pokemon* ;) ^_^

Fire types eh? Not a bad choice. There's a freaking great one in Diamond and Pearl, almost everyone uses it, but it's worth it. It's called Infernape.
And Dragonite is still a beast. It's been outclassed by another dragon but a beast none the less. That and there's no lack of new cute pokemon either.

I played the entire series, I fear it is the only cute game I ever want to play on the hand helds. Their just so fun.x3

Nice ^_^
Do you battle or trade over wifi?

I used to play some of the original ones, red, blue, and yellow, but I lost track with all the new games and Pokemon. How many Pokemon are there now anyway?
*Still remembers trying to catch a frigging Pikachu in Viridian (sp?) Forest, as well as having a level 21 Wartortle put to sleep by a level 3 Jigglypuff.*

How many pokemon? Let me check.........................................................
O_O
IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol jk ^_^

Actually there are 493 pokemon.
And yeah, the pikachu was coveted back in the old red and blue days. Everyone needed a pikachu, and hardly anyone evolved it. ^_^
And yeah, jigglypuff was a royal pain. Sing always work ON the players pokemon yet when the player caught one and made it use sing, it never seemed to work.

Poke Ball Z there?;)
Yeah I can't really say I ever evolved mine either. I just liked Pikachu better. Of course, I could also never figure out who to give my TMs and HMs to, aside from giving Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise Bubblebeam and letting him blast through anything.

I played the card games wen they first came out, but since I didn't get a gameboy until I was in like....tenth grade, and recieved the poke game from a friend of mine for gameboy, I didn't do much playing on it, but hen I id play, I was a beast...

POKEMON?! POKEMON! THE THING WITH THE POKE AND THE MON AND THE GUY COMES OUT OF THE THING AND GOES AH AAHH AHH AHH!

And my favorite pokemon is Gardevoir
Really now? I notice Gardevoir is in the tags too. Why exactly is Gardevoir your favorite now? ;)

Not for the reason that you're thinking.

Seriously, I'm super serial.
I get busted on all the time because of that.
It's because Gardevoir was my first actual Psychic type I raised ^_^
I caught a ralts in emerald and went "aww it's cute (it was a female fortunetly)" then I evolved to a Gardevoir later on.
Hey, if I was thinking like that my favorite would be Lapbunny..... er Lopunny lol

I've played all of them, liked Gold/Silver the best. Still waiting for remakes of them, like they did with Red/Blue.

Favorite Pokemon is always, will always, be Gyarados. Donphan comes in second, but that's because of an inside story/joke with one of my friends.

I recently beat Pokemon Silver choosing Chikorita as my starter and not catching any other Pokemon (save HM slaves). Meganium was at level 79 when he took on Red and whooped his ass.

Uh huh...Ok then. The fact that Gardevoir is the porn star of Pokemon is just a coincidence then I suppose.

Fucking, I play fuckin' Pokemon Blue on my Game Boy Color all the fucking time, man.

Fucking great game.

It is.
And the role of Pokemon porn star goes to lapbunny
lol
You've never been to /v/ have you?

And anyway, I mostly think back on Pokemanz in nostalgia since I played it when it FIRST came out back in the Red and Blue days. Back then Pokemon were more respectable, whereas now half of pokemon art is of Lucario. <_<

No I haven't been there, but I've see the "fan art". V_V
*sigh*
It really dissapoints me.

Yeah I'm really getting sick of seeing Lucario that and the wifi battles are dominated by Garchomp.

Ash: Pikachu! I choose you!

Me: AK-47! I choose you!

(BANG)

Ash: Pikachu! No! Squirtle! I choose you!

Me: AK-47 HAS EVOLVED INTO DESERT EAGLE!

^_~

Yes, I have played pokemon.

The first game I played was the blue version.

My favorite pokemon is Darkrai.
