i saw this on another board and was wondering what some (not all) of you think

;)

Hmmm. off the top of my head, and I'll have to name a couple here and then re-visit this thread and add some more from time to time, I'd say 'Come Together' from "Abbey Road", 'I've Just Seen a Face' from "Rubber Soul", okay enough Beatles...
"'Running On Empty'" title cut, think, think..... What's the first note of the first song I hear in my head when the needle hits the vinyl and the popping stops? "What!? WTF? Where did that come from?!"

'Breathe' from "Dark Side of the Moon"
'Rain On the Scarecrow' from "Scarecrow" by John Cougar Mellencamp
and definately 'Out on the Weekend' from "Harvest" by Neil Young

yeah I know, I'm old for 27
btw good thread!!

For me, it's got to be "Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-5" on Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. It still gives me the shivers when I hear it.

'Proven' on Hatebreeds album 'Perseverance'
'With A Thousand Words To Say But One' on Darkest Hour album 'Undoing Ruin'
'Chapter 11' by Section 8 on album 'Pain Is Truth'
'Prison Song' by System of a Down on album 'Toxicity'

"See Meenah" the first track of the album "Captain Adventure" by Stan Tracey. Recorded in 1975 at the 100 Club in London.

A faithful, loving reproduction of the sound of a Bosendorfer grand piano being given an autopsy by Stan Tracey, while the patient was still alive.

Not a single amplifier, or electrical talent booster of any kind was used to make this album. The players made all the sounds by hitting or plucking the instruments in front of them. They did all their practice at home, for many years, before deciding to make an album, rather than buying guns and getting diamonds set in their teeth.
