English is not my native language but I still want to try to write this down because there's no one in this world I can say this to.

I'm an asexual guy with a tickle fetish. It's really hard (/impossible) to find someone I like that likes to be tickled and can live with the fact that I don't really need to have sex. So lately I was thinking; 'why shouldn't I pay for it?'. So I contacted some escort girls on a website which brought me in big troubles..
Some of them didn't respond, and some of them didn't want to be tickled (which I completely understand). This afternoon I was at work and one of the "girls" I texted send me a picture of a screenshot of my message that said I was looking for a girl to tickle so I could explore more of this fetish. And after that he send me a screengrab of my Facebook page and told me I had to pay €200,00. If I didn't pay he would send the screenshot of my message to all my friends, colleague's and family. At first I thought it was just a stupid scam. My Facebook page is completely in private mode so there was nothing he could see. So I laughed at him (or her) and said 'and who are you going to send it too?'. My mind was completely chaos when he texted me a list of people in my friendlist. Just having the words 'tickle fetish' and the names of my best friends and family in the same conversation really scared me..
The person kept pushing me that I had to pay in the next few minutes or he would send the screengrab. I was almost at the point of just paying the money to get it over with but what if he want more money in the future..
So I told him in the friendliest way that I wasn't going to pay the money, that my closest friends and family already know about it, and it wouldn't have consequences if he didn't do anything. After that I wished him luck finding a good normal job and told him I'm blocking his phone number.
I did some research on the number and the screenshots he send me and I found out that he (or she..) was probably at a GMT +6 timezone and the phone number was leaked at a data breach on Facebook a couple years ago. But I think that will be all I can find out about this person.

Now, a couple hours later I still didn't hear anything from my friends, so I hope he was only trying to get the money, and not to harm people. But I can tell you guys; this afternoon had a pretty big impact on my life. I was a really introvert guy and the last few years I was trying to be more open about myself to the world, but this slammed the door right in my face and I'm not going to open it again.

You handled that perfectly. If he does spread that around, your friends and family will likely either ignore him, or not believe him.

They'd probably feel stupid anyway, wasting time asking you about slander some troll hacker/scammer's spreading about you.
And they should assume those are probably false accusations anyway!

If he does contact them, they should really just inform you that some idiot is trying to cause trouble for you. And perhaps he'd be more likely to get caught, the more attempts he makes?

So forget about him, he's not worth your time.

Thanks for your comment! 2 days went by and I still didn't hear anything from any of my friends or family so I hope it was just about the money, and wasn't really planning to share that screenshot. My stress-level decreased but this will stay in my mind for a long time. And I lost a lot of faith in humanity.

I sent a text to an online phone number about 4 years ago (trying to do the same thing you were). They texted me back, saying they were in the Mexican cartel or something like that, and they had my parents names (easy to look up since my phone number is listed) and said they were going to kill them if I didn't pay them $1200 or something like that. It was scary at first, but it turned out to be nonsense. Have to be careful with these escort sites. Some are scams like this, and just want to scare you into giving them a credit card number.

This scam has become kinda common. They convince you they have your history or sometimes even that they activated the camera remotely and videoed you by telling a password to some site or other that was gotten in a data breach. They in reality have nothing.

That said, you should create an anonymous email account used purely for these purposes, and use it for any accounts on fetish oriented websites. Email accounts are free. There’s simply no need to intermingle your real name with any of these potentially sensitive interests. Good luck.

That's ridiculous. You have the right to explore your interests so long as they are not causing harm to anyone and you are respectful about them, which it sounds like you have been.
