There's plenty of decent albums put out there this year. Any recommendations?

Owl City - Ocean Eyes

I know Jay will back me up with this album! :D

fun. - Aim & Ignite
Basically Queen 2.0

Protomen - Act II
A whole CD about Mega Man. Good jogging music too.

The Antlers - Hospice

primary colours by the horrors is bloody brilliant but i dont think any1 knows what im talking about...

other good'uns are the yeah yeah yeahs, the enemy, chase and status and maximo park

1. Winger - Karma (Believe it or not)
2. Kiss - Sonic Boom (see 1.)
3. Lynch Mob - Smoke and Mirrors
4. Mastodon - Crack the Skye
5. Astra - The Weirding
6. Porcupine Tree - The Incident

VNV Nation - Of Faith, Power and Glory.

IMO, one of the best albums I've ever heard in my life, let alone just this year.

They're one of the few bands I will actively force people to listen to.

Also, for those who like the heavier stuff, Combichrist - Today We Are All Demons. Pretty cool album, heavy as hell, and the bonus disc isn't bad either.

Skillet's "Awake" album and Place Vendome's "Streets of Fire" are the only ones I can think at the moment.

This might be one of my faves from this year.

"Black Gives Way to Blue" is the latest (and possibly greatest) Alice in Chains album.

I never thought I'd say that for an album without Layne Staley, but it really, truly rocks.

Being possibly their greatest album is a bold statement considering their classic stuff and makes me very interested in hearing it.I'll have to check it out for sure.

I have been out of the loop this year as far as new music. The only album that comes to mind that I could recommend is Hatebreeds ''For the Lions''.It's a tribute album with a lot of good covers of old metal and punk.

Indeed. I'm sure many AIC fans will disagree with me, but I guess I've always liked Jerry Cantrell more than Staley. Have you heard any of Cantrell's solo stuff? It's really good, actually.

I had my doubts about this album but from what I've heard so far it has exceeded my expectations. What are your favs off the album?

I haven't heard any of Cantrell's solo stuff but I plan on doing so.

The best songs off the new album are...

Your Decision
All Secrets Known
Take Her Out
A Looking In View (one of the singles)
When the Sun Rose Again

Also, the title track is pretty good, but short. It's a nice tribute to Layne.

I would have to say Miley Cyrus put out some greatt music this year......well actually I am just trying to say Party in the USA is my favorite. :D
