I've met several female lees through fetlife. They are around, I honestly think they just keep quiet because they get bombarded by pushy messages if they speak up. Hence why being active and appearing like a normal human being seems to be important.

Yeah, what TicklingTips said. There are people around, despite the 'dead vibe'. You do have to work at it, though. By that I mean, a lot of work for only a few meetups, but in my experience it's worth it.
